Hey Guys,

Never played any Mass Effect games, except for a quick go on the PS3 demo - which I didn't give much time to, but at £17.91 (PS3) on one site is it worth that price to get involved with?

Cheers,

Mass Effect 2 is an excellent game, I played the first Mass Effect on a PC using keyboard and mouse...

I never understood why the gamepad option was removed for PC - huge mistake if you ask me so when ME2 was released for PS3 decided to play the second on a games console.

Worthy of every single penny I paid for it. Epic game from start to finish, but I did feel the comic just isn't enough to fill you in on the background story from ME1.

you'll enjoy it, but you need to stick with it as it is a very long game if you also play, and I do recommend you do, some of the side quests etc..

Well I know I'm late to the party with this game, but I've got got to say it's excellent!! Put in about 5½ hours at the weekend & was absorbed from the start. How long do you guys estimate for playing time on this one? (I do most side quests in games).

Absolute bargain for £17 odd! :)

Just started this on the 360, superb game. I enjoyed the first one quite a bit (after the rather slow start) and ME2 is even better.

The game itself seems to do a halfway decent job of explaining stuff from the previous one so you shouldn't feel too clueless about prior events in the story.

Why don't you find a bargain ME1, which has you more involved right off the bat. You will be much more emetionally attached and see how the decisions you have made impacted the world.

You'll also then appreciate how amazing a game ME2. Given the fact ME1 is brilliant, you can't imagine how they could improve it ... and then they did ! :D

The OP has a PS3.

How many people have you recruited? You should be able to get a good 40 hours if you play it fully. Make sure you get all the DLC too, especially lair of the shadowbroker.

Just doing the story/recruitment/loyalty missions and the hub world ones (stuff on the Citadel etc) will probably give around 25 hours of gameplay, do every mission you can find + DLC and as said you're talking closer to 40 hours.

The Mass Effect wiki is good for a read up if you wanna see what story stuff was missed from the PS3 comic thing (IIRC it misses out a complete story planet from ME1)

Only got the 4 team members so far - the two you start off with & Archangel and the doctor from 'Omega' is it?

Ah, you've got plenty left to go then, if you get/have the DLC, you'll get another 2 more characters and loyalty missions to play through. Sounds like you've got Mordin and Garrus then.

Hmm, I've got 6 team members now - but haven't come across any loyalty missions. Just been to Horizon to defend the outpost.

Are the loyalty missions obvious?
