Mass Effect 2

I didn't get on with ME1. Was bored to death within the first 30 mins but for some reason I found myself addicted to ME2. One of the best games I've played in refer years. Can't wait for 3.

I may have to go back to 1 and give it another chance.

Definitely worth playing, you can get ME1 on pc for dirt cheap now days as well.

May get ME1 on PC, but I think I'll carry on & finish ME2 before I play it - got too far into it now to stop & then go back. I don't think I'm really suffering too much from not playing the first one,and am really enjoying 2. :)

Hmm, I've got 6 team members now - but haven't come across any loyalty missions. Just been to Horizon to defend the outpost.

Are the loyalty missions obvious?

IIRC you get the first couple of loyalty missions after Horizon, then they'll start popping up over time. Can't miss them, they'll appear in your journal when ready and Kelly will tell you X crew member wants to speak with you.

The DLC characters give their loyalty missions on recruitment if you've bothered to get them. Think the PS3 version actually comes with some of the DLC out of the box, Like Kasumi and Lair of the Shadow Broker.

That's right, they're almost impossible to miss, just make sure you check your journal / missions list, they will appear in there. Make sure you finish all your missions before you start the final mission too ;)

Finished the game on Sunday & have to say wow - what a great game!! :)

At £17 it's a must buy in my opinion, and now I can't wait for next March. Will have to buy the first game on PC now!

Bit of a thread bump but I wanted to ask the Xbox 360 owners how big are your ME2 game saves? I've been using the new cloud storage and there only seems to be one file in there - 2MB in size despite having multiple saves (which are visible in-game).

Is this normal or has the cloud saving borked it?

Hey guys, just wondering how to obtain PC DLC for ME2?

All I can see on their website is to get it using Microsoft Points.

Edit: Just noticed the Bioware points thingy. Seems tedious.

Hmm, that's the only way. I'm still holding out for a retail/Steam release with all the DLC included. But that's not going to happen until ME3 is done at least, I read.

I just picked up ME 1 & 2 along with Alan Wake and Darksiders for 20 notes. A few hours into ME 1 now and enjoying it. Gone for a soldier build, what talents should I be focussing on early on?

Assault Rifle is a good one, as are Assault Training and Fitness.

Depending on if you're going good or bad (Paragon / Renegade), you'll want to put points in to either Intimidate or Charm to make the best of conversation options.

Mass Effect 2 is an excellent game, I played the first Mass Effect on a PC using keyboard and mouse...

I never understood why the gamepad option was removed for PC - huge mistake if you ask me so when ME2 was released for PS3 decided to play the second on a games console.

I doubt many people feel that ME2 would be better played on a pad than with a mouse keyboard- hotkeys are especially useful in ME2.
