*** Mass Effect 3 ***

Perhaps you just need a higher paragon/renegade score to choose those two options, or were you already maxed out?

Also, I thought that on the score the grey bar represented what you would have with 100% war readiness effort and the green bar your actual readiness? In which case I'd find it a bit strange that when the green bar is completely full there's still the possibility of unlocking more?

Paragon maxed out, I'm not entirely sure, maybe an option earlier changes that slightly. Its very odd, anyway looking through the vid files there is an INSANELY MINOR change that gives 2 extra endings, pathetically tiny vids that add almost nothing.

So all this effort over two possibly hugely better endings and by and large both are a joke anyway.

I guess I was hoping the two extra endings listed above gave quite dramatically different endings which might make them suck less.... they don't. Oh well, wasted a couple hours working that one out. EA really deserve to be destroyed over such an epic fail of an ending to what could have been such an epic trilogy. They JarJarBinks'd it :(

Careful with trainers chaps. The single player and multiplayer share the sames rules file. If you modify them, you run the risk of having your account banned as the changes would leak into multiplayer.

There's already a hack going around where people are making you finish rounds with millions of credits.

Very upsetting to hear evreyone rage at the endings. :(

Indeed.

If it is true(which I still highly doubt, if only because they specifically said that it wasn't the case even after release and everyone had already played it. Plus it is incredibly easy to disprove) then I don't really see why? ....what do Bioware get out of us playing the MP? We have already payed for the game!

From what I can see you can max out the green bar but the EFFECTIVE readyness is HALF the value of the green bar, and afaik its MP that allows you to increase the "effectiveness" rating. Basically with single player only you can max the green bar but your effectiveness is 50%, meaning you can get 6000 on the bar, but it only counts as circa 3000(not sure what the actual max on the bar is without loading up and checking).

There are seemingly endings give or take every 1000 mark from 2000 to 6000, you can only access 2000/3000 with no multiplayer, or at least that seems to be how it worked in my game. I played, did no multiplayer had no indication AT ALL that I needed to do multiplayer, my effective readyness rating was always low but it was never explained, and I got a totally crap ending, or more specifically a totally crap choice of 3 truly crap endings.

EDIT:- gone in to check my last save, I have a military strength rating of just under 6500, a war readiness rating of 50% and an effective military strength of 3200, which is why I got the 3 god awful endings and not the other 3. From everything I've read there is no way to increase war readiness other than MP, I've, afaik missed almost nothing in terms of max war readiness rating so 6500-7000 is likely the max meaning 3250-3500 is the max you can get without playing MP at all, which means again you miss out on the "best" endings without MP.

Of course, you can, and I'm about to, use a trainer to adjust the rating before going on the final mission, not sure if it works or not. Truly epically ridiculous that a huge majority of those have finished it, got one of the 3 crap endings, been utterly let down because the game in no way anywhere maxs it clear that you HAVE to play MP to get a good ending, utter, disasterous failure on their part.

I can see it as a "anti piracy" measure potentially, HAHA we screwed all of those who can't play MP, but 99% of people buying this game are buying for the SP, and most, me included had zero intention of trying it till I'd played it through at least once as I couldn't wait to finish the SP, in which case they again failed to recognise why the vast majority of people bought and the way most of those people would play the game.

The "best" endings still sound somewhat awful and stupid, though I've not seen them to see how it pans out.

Ok, endings, with a cheat, meh, spoilers

Okay, as far as I know I had maxed green bar, max war assets, 50% war readiness, and around 3250 effective war assets.
First attempt, control reapers, Shep dies, relays blow, for some absurd reason Normandy has left earth with everyone who was on the planet, and crashes somewhere stupid, the video on earth of the wave going through turns reapers green or blue, forget which and the people taking cover survive. Joker and 2 people leave normandy on planet

I redid it and did the synthesis ending which is utterly retarded, same but crashlanding the 3 crew have synthetic bits, eyes, skin, its retarded.

I watched the third ending online and it showed a part where the guys taking cover on earth got fried and then showed another part where the wave basically turns earth charred, so I assume everyone died everywhere, which seems ridiculous. Though I have no idea on the war assets for the online vid, it might have been much lower war assets.

So did cheat, it DOESN'T change war readiness, just pumps up war assets so even at 50% effective its way above the 5000 you need.
AFAIk its only the kill reapers option that changes, so an hour playing to the end and, only difference was earth didn't get charred and the guys in the vid taking cover don't burn, the reapers just flop over. That could be down to war assets being higher than online vid and nothing to do with cheat.

IGN and other things seem to suggest with 4000+ you can save Anderson, and survive yourself, didn't have these options.

However in each one I did the final speech option with the illusive man each time the two options on the left(paragon/renegade) are greyed out.

My guess is, if you play MP properly and get war readiness above certain levels those two final speech options aren't greyed out and give access to different endings. Still points to needing to play multiplayer no matter what, which is still a cluster**** because it doesn't anywhere hint that you need to do that.

Thanks for that DM!

I just can't get into this - the game feels so empty compared to the previous to games. They've removed almost everything that made the series awesome. It's such a bare-metal offering.

It feels extremely scripted; shoot and run, excessively long cut scene that cannot be skipped, walk around citadel type area and not do anything. It's really quite dull and I'm not sure I'll be abe to sit through it.

I've uninstalled it already, it just isn't Mass Effect :(

Bit of advice for myself, next time Ea/Bioware sell something pirate it first :/

In short Hellsmk2, vern1961, Pighardia have already said it :p

That's not just the ending!, this is just DA2 all over again but for different reasons people are way to blinded to think just because it's got reapers/sheperd and the mass effect title slapped on it then it's a top quality product and true to it's name!. There are already a number of fanboys creeping about that wont have anything bad said about it, just like DA2.

It is nowhere near as bad as DA2 was. Anyway, whatever your thoughts on it, either play it or stop gaming altogether. This is where gaming is now, dumbed down console ports. I still don't think this game is any worse than Mass Effect 2. Obviously both are very different to ME1, but then people had plenty of complaints about that too.

I am disappointed with certain things(btw I haven't even got to the ending yet) but I am not letting it spoil my enjoyment!

I still think it is a great game. And as for not being Mass Effect, I disagree with most people on this tbh. I do not think the game needs excessive RPG elements (though I would probably agree that it is a little too watered down) Note I do not say dumbed down!!!

I for one do not miss the awful inventory management form ME1 and can live without picking up a new weapon/armour every 5 seconds and checking to see if it is better than my current one.

In short, I have no issue with them turning it into more of a shooter than RPG.

That doesn't mean anything .....nothing is!

Very well said. Pretty much my thoughts too.

Mass Effect, A shooter.

Nice one Bioware, possibly a few minor spoilers and enemy reveals.

Nice video :)

It does feel that ME3 was given to Boware's B-Team. ME2 was more polished than this is.

Thing is, at the end of the day EA / Bioware won't really care with the $$$'s rolling in.

And they'l probably just release a dlc that costs £6+ to 'fix' the ending while laughing all the way to the bank, again.
