*** Mass Effect 3 ***

If the ending has ruined it: then this a shout out to some excellent author, producer, director, artists, whatever: BUY THE RIGHTS AND SORT IT . lol

Can somewhat understand the clutching at straws since some of the theories if true would make it look like the writers didn't just have a massive case of writers block by the end.

Just very hard to grasp how you can go from the emotional rollercoaster of 99% of the game to....that.

Mass Effect 3 is not as good as ME2. The ending is very poor.

Pros:
Takes less time to complete

Cons:
Badly thought-out plot/war progession e.g. Crucible is an awful deus-ex machina
Linear
Enemies lack intelligence to make combat challenging regardless of difficulty level
The Normandy itself doesn't really get involved unlike in ME2 when it gets boarded

Wow what a load of... Then ending sequence if pretty straight forward, why the need for all the conspiracy theories?

The ending could have used more exposition, that's apparent, and also more alternatives. The good one where everyone wins (what everyone wants apparently), the medium that makes Reapers go and sheppard sacrifices, the bad one where everyone dies (the current ending). I like that ending, it's a downer, and rolls back the clocks on civilisation, but so what.

So you've spent all that time building up a character, making friends, getting some sexy time with aliens, only to have everything wiped out at the end. Toooo bad!

After a particularly rocky start with this one... I'm loving it so far. Wish more people in this thread would make use of spoiler tags, though. :( Also, it's not smart to "allude" to stuff... PLEASE just cover it with a tag.

16 hours clocked at the mo and the game's really finding its stride. They've made a few attempts to change things up that haven't really worked with me, for example the pretty retarded overheard conversation side missions, but they haven't annoyed me too much. Solid 8/10 from me at the moment.

And yes, I know, I know... "Just wait until you get to the end." :p

The main writer was switched to SWTOR during ME3's development, meaning a new one was brought in to finish things up.

Haven't actually checked the credits but which writer was that? Only two names for ME writers come to mind and one of them (Drew thingymabob) i thought only had a hand in writing the first one.

According to imdb he was lead writer for ME1 and just writer on ME2 (Mac Walters was lead writer for ME2 and 3 apparantly). He had no part in ME3 so he won't be the reason only the ending fails.

I vote we find out whoever is responsible and start a lynchmob :p

The question then remains, why make such a bad ending? a ploy for something else or just a complete mess up.

Check ME3's sales figures by the end of the month, thats how many customers there will be itching to part with a ( so far ) unspecified sum of money for a potential "happy ever after" DLC ;)

Or we
can go for a push for me4 because shepard was found breathing somewhere haha. The fact he managed to survive a huge explosion and land safely on earth, be shot by a reaper and numerous other things , need not spoil the game haha.
