*** Mass Effect 3 ***

I've just read that you can save Mordin:D ....but you have to do too much bad stuff for it to happen:(.
TBH it is probably best that he dies anyway, it is a great moment

One of the many near tear inducing moments. I know it sounds silly, but after 3 games and getting to know everything about these characters (and getting them through the suicide mission), it was pretty darn emotional to see so many of them get taken out :(

Just another reason why the ending was a kick in the teeth.

Yes the decision surrounding characters were made hard and i felt this was good, shame for the last 15 minutes.

Note that the debates in bioware forums are well over 1000 pages in some cases!

It's been like that since people got to the end of ME3 lol, many people are sat just waiting to see if any hint comes from EA/BW lol

Only thing i can think of that had a bigger blacklash in recent memory (game related) was the RealID on forums thing Blizzard was planning.

Here are some collected Twitter quotes from Bioware regarding the endings.

User 1: "I still want to believe you guys are sneaky trolls and have
something going on you don't tell us yet. Can I get a cryptic reply?"

@masseffect: "The sun, it shines. www.youtube.com/watch"

User 2: "You are either a massive sadist or a beacon of hope."

@masseffect: "Can't it be both?"

User 3: "I kinda feel lost after that ending...not what I expected and left me feeling everything done was for nothing."

@masseffect: "We know it's a lot to take in! But hang in there. Your decisions matter."

User 4: "Are you holding something back, that could quell the large
amount of frustration from the community, a tiny hint would be enough."

@masseffect: "Mike Gamble already said on his twitter, if the fans knew what was in store, the reaction would be different."

User 5: "I loved 98% of ME3..but something has to be up w/ ending..too much talent at BW for that business. Keep my saves?"

@masseffect: "We're keeping our saves, that's for sure."

User 6: "Fans are people too. Playing with their minds isn't that nice as it may look like to people from Bioware."

@masseffect: "We're not playing with anyone's minds, we are answering
what questions we can and recording what feedback we receive."

User 7: "Its not that the ending was taken in the wrong direction its
that it makes NO SENSE. Ashley was on the Normandy? she [was] with me."

@masseffect: "Probably a good thing to be cautious of."

User 8: "Do y'all have any ETA when more news will be released? Dying for news on a new ending/DLC."

@masseffect: "No ETA yet, but you will be updated via Facebook and Twitter when the news is available :)."

And some more:

User 1 -Well, i think i'll stop naggin you and trying to get you to talk about the indoctrination theory. :( Good game though!

Merizan - I want people to make up their own minds right now, then when more people have played we'll talk :)

User 2 - then I want to SEE that he was lying. I want to get up and finish the fight with Commander Shepard. Then retire.

Merizan - augh. want. to. discuss! Staying spoiler free for now :P

User 3 - But should've confronted the kid instead. Shep went meekly into the night.

Merizan - are you sure he went meekly into the night?

It is torture!

They definitely have something planned though. Game was incredible up until the last 5 minutes, I can't believe that was the proper ending .... the same people who wrote the truly amazing moments throughout the game are not capable of something as bad as the ending.

I am now a believer in some kind of variation of the indoctrination theory, though nothing I have specifically seen so far seems quite right imo.

I just read about Joker's sister ....I didn't connect the dots during my playthrough.:(:(

The indoctrination theories have flaws (or plotholes, if you wish) but they make more sense than the actual endings we got.

My guess would be that they originally planned different endings and the endings we got would have been one of those endings (because it is basically just one ending with very few animation alterations). For some reason (time/money/whever) they decided to scrap the rest and and make slightly different versions of the ending they had already done and stick with that.

Enjoyed playing this so much, even though I was using a slightly botched ME2 save where I had let quite a number of people die, clearly forgot to redo it ready for the third game :(

Some of the decisions what had to be made really gave me a tough time, and from losing Mordin onwards, it only got tougher. Absolutely loved the last part of talking to everyone one earth, especially Garrus. There really was some great conversations only to be ruined by such a "meh" ending.

But what really annoyed me more than anything, was the lack of a text based epilogue that told me what happened in the years to come, I could just about have forgiven the ending choices, had I actually got to have seen the consequences of my actions i.e. what happens to the surviving fleet with no mass relays, did the krogans effectively die out on earth fighting the last battle against the reapers(assuming you didn't cure them) etc.

Interestingly, this was linked to me earlier.

This really seems to tie in nicely with the hallucination theory, but even if Bioware were planning this, I don't think I could ever shake the feeling that they intended to charge(I assume if they come they will be free to try and blow this over) for a number of DLCs with a single different ending in each, which to me is more unforgivable than the current state of the games ending.

What about his sister?

What about his sister?

Didn't get the full conversation on my first playthrough but apparantly the asari commando in the hospital talking to the shrink shot Joker's sister because her screaming would have made the Reapers find them. Quite sad when you find out :/
Theres a convo with Joker where he thinks said sister is safe since only children (she was 15 or something) had made off the colony.

Thanks, I only heard the part Joker tells you

Some of the small choices from previous games may not have great weight in ME3, but overall it is well done imo, and much better than ME1-ME2. At least imo it makes it so that you are greatly rewarded for carrying over your save. I can't imagine playing the game without some of the squad members from ME2 in it.
^^ THere are more ramifications to the Rachni Queen decision from previous games, but nothing major.

It is honestly not worth trying to review this game, as the ending makes everything else worthless..... I mean, not even an epilogue!

So true :(

So how does the mission editor work? where can i get it?

PS: now that ME3 is completed, is anyone else worried about DRM etc on ME1/2 so if you want to play them in say 10 years time, you wont be able too? Have people rebought them on steam or something to protect them or what? If i remember , it checks with the server or you can only activate it 5 times and those servers wont be there forever.

Suddenly with the ME3 ending , im feeling very protective of my copy of me1 lol
