Mass Effect: Andromeda Thread

ME1 is the much better RPG while ME2 is the better game. Still not got around to ME3 - just saw all the ending *******s and never felt like playing it.

Well you're doing yourself a disservice. You've come so far with the crew in ME1 and ME2 and not to want to complete the journey is bonkers. Get to it! :p

I'm just not that bothered by Bioware games anymore - they decided to go down the action TPS rather than stick with their RPG roots. No doubt ME:A will be good but so many other games that I'm looking forward to more...

Hell I've got all the ME3 DLC so I should play it some year :p

EDIT: Actually the ME universe/setting will make it an easy buy

I played and finished all 3, loved the story and characters, thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.

My gripe was the change in mechanics from 1 - 2/3. Hated the "thermal clip" thing with a passion. How is it more advanced to be limited to a certain number of clips when in ME1 your gun could shave off tiny slivers from a solid core to generate near endless ammo and fire for an eternity when using the right mods!

I loved the weapons in ME1, was sorely disappointed with the dumbed down, very limited selection in 2 and 3. Hoping they go back to the style of ME1 for Andromeda.

Strongest hints yet that the original trilogy may get a remaster -

Game Informer: One of the things I asked you last year when we sat down at E3 was about Mass Effect. At the time, there were two publishers that hadn't really dipped into the remaster world: you and Activision. Activision has since released a number of remasters or ports, and now they are working on a full-on remaster for MW. Revisiting this as the last man standing on remasters, has anything changed? Like a Mass Effect trilogy remaster?

Soderlund: What's changed is that there is proof in the market that people want it, maybe more than there was when we spoke. There were some that did it before, but I think there is even more clear evidence that this is something that people really want. The honest answer is that we are absolutely actively looking at it. I can't announce anything today, but you can expect us most likely to follow our fellow partners in Activision and other companies that have done this successfully.

Happy N7 day everyone. :D

By the end of the day, I'm expecting Mass Effect 2 & 3 to be on the Xbone backward compatible list.

If they brought out a remastered version i would probably play through the entire trilogy again. The multiplayer in the third was also fantastic where they brought out multiple expansions for free, so I would have got my moneys worth out of the game even if I only played it 5% of what i did.

Despite the ending in the third game i thought it was excellent overall. Like most, I didnt like the simplification of some elements of the game in 2/3, although the combat was more 'fun'. It also felt like they made every environment smaller, the citadel felt like it was fleshed out quite well in the first but none of the environments felt as memorable in later games where everything seemed to be reduced to a bunch of corridors.

Andromeda is definitely my most anticipated game in 2017, i hope they do a good job of it.

For me 2 and 3 are better games but I love the characters and story more in the first.

For me Mass Effect was better than 2 and 3 in every way. Dumbing down the rgp elements really killed it for me. Plus story was not half as good in 2 or 3.

Looking forward to Andromeda. Any info on who's writing the story?

Loved the original trilogy. Great characters, music, gameplay, setting... hated the story. The more they revealed the less sense it made. Hope they have a new lead writer.

Yup I'm still sticking to my "Dawson's Creek in space" theory. Especially now the asari is named Peebee or something.

Great trailers! :D Whats the orientation briefing one, is that some kind of build up info we will get prior to release or something in the coming months?
