I was actually on here on Friday night when I went downstairs to grab a beer. As I reached the top of the stairs, I felt my heart race amazingly fast. I do suffer from an irregular heartbeat but this was different.

I went blue, I couldn't breath and I was sick numerous times. Eventually I felt my legs give way, I went dizzy and woke up 5 minutes later. It was the same so I called an ambulance. My mum came in as I was calling it. She reassured me but I was scared. Ambulance arrived and before I knew it I had passed out again.

I woke up in the ambulance speeding to the hospital. The docs said I had suffered a ventricular tachycardia but they had been able to stop it with medication via IV before it degenerated into cardiac arrest. However, once it's happened once, it's likely to happen again.

I have been transferred to a heart hospital in London and as I type this, I am awaiting a time for an implantation of an internal defibrillator. Just like Muamba has had.

Very scary time. You never know just how close to being a goner you are. Dread to think what would have happened if I was in a deep sleep when it happened

Yes. What's the problem with that exactly?

Tvcatchup is down. Anyone know a good iPad alternative?

Some people eh

That sounds very scary indeed, you're lucky you were able to call for an ambulance and lucky they got there so quickly. Someone was watching over you that day that's for sure :)

Not sure about any alternatives I'm afraid!

All the best anyway :)

Which worked out very well in the circumstances. Do you have to keep the defibrillator for the rest of your life or does the condition get better over time?

Quite true, I suppose.

It was an ode to the other thread really.
