Massive scare on Friday night!

Cheers all.

The defib will have to stay in for life, but I may only get an attack a couple of times a year or so, so I would much rather have one as insurance. Next time, I might not be so lucky.

I am in a UCL hospital in Marylebone called (fittingly), the Heart Hospital.

Well, if you need it you have to have it, and hopefully it will help in the future. My Mrs has a pacemaker, fitted nearly 10 years ago now that will be up for replacement soon. She got that when she was 33 due to lifelong heart problems.

I'm guessing this means you can't drive or anything in the future?

That's probably the least of your worries but it's the first thing that popped into my head.

Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Whoa...man that must have been scary.

I wish you all the best dude, get well soon!! Hard to see it this way I know but on the + side your condition has been recognized and is now being treated and youre now more aware.

32? Man, that makes me check my own mortality. More importantly, glad you're OK and very lucky to have happened when and where it did.

How's your Mum doing now? She must have been bricking it!

Question for you, and I'm sure this is on a lot of other similarly aged member's minds: What kind of lifestyle do you lead? Occupation/diet/exercise etc..?

Don't think is is actually always relevant as many such disorders are Congenital (ie you are born with them) eg Muamba....

OP: Very scary though dude, hope you recover well/ quickly!

Get well soon man. You're the same age as me but i smoked and drank too much over the last 10years. Having a heart attack was my biggest fear and i could feel it getting closer and closer each day so i decided one day to just quit both of them for good and that was exactly 90days ago now.

Quit the beer, eat well and look after yourself.

Heart hospital in London....St Georges? My mum was there when she had her heart attack and quintuple bypass, they where FANTASTIC, had a bit of a bad name in the press recently but I cant say enough good things about them.

Good luck.
