I’m liking it. Neat design on the X, controller looks excellent. Many will whine about digital only, I am digital only, so works for me. They’ll just release an external drive.

Not worth changing my XSX though, but the controller I would.

It's not an Xbox ... it's an Xcylinder ! Hopefully the new controller will have hall sensors, with fewer quality control issues. Beyond the increased storage ( will the proprietary Seagate external SSD be supported ? ) looks like a more power efficient device rather than a leap in performance.

The Xbox refresh a simple redesign then with no performance improvement? Increased storage is good but being digital only it pretty much needs it.

Don't see the appeal myself but I'm sure others will.

Assuming it’s real they probably leaked it themselves :p
It's all real and definitely not on purpose. It was leaked from the court case so the lawyers dealing with it messed up.

No way they would want this info out on purpose. Slides are clearly for internal use and contain hardware specs, timelines and sales targets.

Sony will be very interested in some of this!

Fascinating. I love the DualSense on PS5 (the haptics especially, the triggers can do one) so it will be nice to have that on an XBox controller. But the switch to ARM64 for the next console possibility. Zoinks.

Well it looks like no need for me to upgrade to a series X now if physical is dead, or at least as good as.
MS releases will be PC only going forward, been holding off but it is now time to get a PS5 for TV gaming and media, just a shame they are so huge.

The released details also suggest that MS are not particularly concerned with making good games, just acquiring rivals to compete. Welcome to the soulless future of corporate gaming.

At least the PC will always be good for indie stuff regardless of one corporate monopoly hoovering up all of the IPs.

Looks like the new XBOX might be better than my RTX4080 and give a better experience, just like when the Series X came out and it was a good time to ditch the PC. Again this might be the case with the Series X Refresh.

Finally full steam ahead for the digital future. I wonder if they're ready to abandon physical for next gen in 2028.

Hardly any physical media is printed now, tens of millions with gamepass, I’d have bought the PS5 digital edition if it had been available. I just find it much easier, click, buy, download, play and the second it’s released.

Looks like it's a simple refresh focused on features and efficiency rather than performance.

All consoles will be going this way, even Sony although they will be providing an optional disk drive too

I wonder if Microsoft will too, they are adding extra USB type C ports to the new console and that port can be used to power an external disc drive

They do come with the new controller which looks awesome

The new controller:

* Has new designed buttons and thumb sticks with a new thumb stick mechanism for better longevity and quieter buttons

* Is user serviceable: The new controller is designed with right to repair in mind, so the user can easily take it apart and replace components

* Supports new wireless standards and uses a new wireless Connection to the Xbox for lower latency

* Has a new lift to wake feature - the controller automatically goes into standby when you put it down and it wakes up when you pick it up

* Has accelerometer sensor built in, and has haptic feedback motors built in and built in speaker ability

Combined with the refreshed console which gives you double the internal storage and runs cooler and uses less electricity, comes in a smaller chassis and as a package it's pretty good imo

You don't need USB-C for an external optical drive, it'd work on any existing USB port. The lack of any mention of an external drive on the slides (considering all the other detail that's on there) suggests to me there won't be one.

The leaked 'slim' PS5 is supposed to be a bit shorter if stood vertical.
