Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

Will spend a week or so mugging before I do that, not planning on losing Bet365 straight after opening :o

Got gubbed from Betway the other day, seems loads of people have suffered the same fate after their 'enter username for £5 free bet' offer. Perhaps it was only sent out to a few people (i definitely didn't get an email/text with the offer) and once they saw thousands claiming it started gubbing people.

to clarify... this is all new to me, I started yesterday and I am using yesbets.

5 mins before

even on football matches? surely it is not that stable then?

What I'm worried about is that I back something at the bookie, then when I come to lay it, the odds have changed.

This happened to me yesterday on my first qualifying bet at the exchange. Fortunately it matched a couple of minutes later (had already layed it at higher odds) cause the odds went up again.

When this happens, I dunno what to do tbh. Is something like this a part of the tutorials at yesbets for example? I'm still trying it out for free so dont have access to every tutorial atm.

For football an hour or so before is fine for common stuff like WDW market.

Horses, aye, 5-10 mins before. Volatile but if you're quick it's usually to your advantage.

How will you ever cope with in play bets?

Practice makes perfect. In-play ones can be a harsh mistress. I lost £15 last night when a team scored instantly after I backed and was just about to lay, however I just made £18 with a similar bet on tennis.

Surely the best time is when you can get the best odds? Whether that's 5 hours before a game or 5 mins.

In play bets are annoying, I generally wait until half time to save the scenario of big qualifying losses from happening. Sure, I might not get the absolute best odds but for the sake of a few pence either way it's worth missing the risk.

hey guys for those of you on yesbets, I have a question...

Since I am outside the uk not all beginner bonuses are available for me...

So far I completed paddypower with 3x£10 free bets (made a profit of £26) and betstars (pokerstars logo) (still waiting to receive 4x£5 free bets which are given periodically every 7 days).

I already had a betfair account so dont have the £30 free bets from there, but I just opened a smarkets account and will get £10 refunded on first loss.

From the beginner bonuses I can only do Ladbrokes (but that is another £50 to deposit which I can't lay atm as liability is too much)... the rest are not available for me.

What should I do next basically?

Then there are bet365, 888sport, 188Bet and a few more i think, but all these need a big exchange account (cause of the wagering or first bet refunded offers).

And then there are reload offers, which I maybe can do.

Any help/strategy to go about it?

Find a list of offers and check the T&Cs to see which you're eligible for. Build up your exchange balance or put some money to one side from any employment to cover it.

If you're already using yesbets everything is laid out for you, what more do you want?

YesBets works in an order... do beginner bonuses, build up slowly and then do reload offers...

problem for me is that i can only do a few beginner bonuses (cause of the restrictions) so I cannot build up to do the higher wagering ones... but i can do SOME reloads... however i don't know if that is advisable since some bookie accounts have been opened for 1-2 days.

Do whatever reloads or beginner bonuses you can currently afford, use that to determine your own order. What's your current balance across all bookies and the exchange?

Why would it matter if the accounts have been opened for 1-2 days? You usually have plenty of time to do the welcome offers which are only activated once you enter a code. Again, check the T&Cs.

The prices are changing 5 mins before (not as much as inplay) often you can catch the bookie out being slow and get a better lay. Best try not to worry, it will slow you down by making you tense, you will soon be betting and laying on horses "going behind" ;)

Thanks guys!

Current balances is:
Betfair £82
Smarkets £20
BetStars £22

Ladbrokes signup is £50 which I can deposit, however to get best value I would need around £400 in the exchange.
Same thing for Bet365 with the £200 sign up, I would need around £1.2k in the exchange.

Also, the first £5 free bet from betstars came in... wonder whether I should put it on smarkets and hope to lose on smarkets to get that free £10.

I guess I will do reloads for paddy power and bet stars until i build up some money.
