Well it sounds innocent enough, im sure everyone has bent the truth a little bit on Job applications or CVs but this one freaked me out abit and wondered what "you" thought about it. He was very flippent about it but i thought hmm thats a bit of a wrongun... anyway...

He's applied to be a police community support officer, fair enough.
On his app. he ticked the "homosexual" as his preference and they snapped him up and offered him an interview next week.

Now try not to laugh, not to offend any people of that sexual orientation, but isnt that just wrong? He basicaly queue jumped and has gotten in because they need to fill their politicaly correct quotas???

Maybe im completely over-reacting but lying on a police applicaton form??? Surely if they ever found out, which isnt going to be hard when they meet his Finace(sp?) long term serious GF, would land him in a bit of hot water??

anyway what do you lot reckon? It is kinda amusing but still i could see it biting him on the arse one day if he wants to persue the career further!

 :D

had he applied previously stating hetrosexual?

if not, then comparing it is wrong. he may well have got the job regardless. also, people change their sexual persuasion. so why its important to include on a job application i dont know.

It could lead to the sack but I really doubt it as I don't think there is any methods to prove that your friend was a homosexual at the time of applying.

I think that's quite funny, but without a doubt they're going to find out and then surely he will be in heaps of trouble!

if they dont bring it up in the interview or at any other point during the process of signing his contract surely he can just claim it was an honest mistake if they find out?

they can hardly fire him for not being gay!

He could always claim he thought he was gay at the time he applied, then had a go at bum jousting and decided it wasn't for him?

They won't sack him for not being gay, but they could sack him for being dishonest. (that's if your friend ever sprouts out in the future "I got his job because I applied for being gay")

lol could have been worse could have ticked on the other part.

I is black :p that one they might have spotted tho lol

i thought that PCSOs were in high demand at the moment and they are snapping up almost all applicants. to be fair, sexual preferance shouldn't have much impact on your ability to work, or the jobs that you are assigned to.

to be fair, he could just say (if ever questioned about it) that he changed his mind.

its nothing like lying about a qualification.

He's a lesbian trapped inside a man's body..

He should get the job sheerly on initiative grounds IMHO

LOl exactly so why even tick the "im gay" box???

I need to have a serious man to man chat with him, see if there is anything he needs to get off his chest :p

If anything comes of it - which I seriously doubt - then he could just claim ignorance. I ticked what box? No way!? Wow, what a mistake to make... sorry. They can hardly sack him for that. Or he could just say that he wasn’t sure... and now he’s worked it out and didn't think he actually needed to officially 'tell' anyone.

I heard that the waiting list for a white, hetrosexual male is up to 3 years for the police whereas an ethnic, homosexual woman for example would be snapped up faster than you could blink.

He's played a shoddy system. Well done.

I don't think it will make a difference. If they needed someone homosexual to fill a quota then as far as they're concerned they got one. If he changed his mind in the meantime it's not their problem.

The thing I don't get is why a sexual preference would make a difference to your job. It's not a religion or a nationality. Not that they should make a difference either.

I like women in mini skirts and stockings what job should I apply for?
