Hello there,

I have a CiT S012B Slim Micro ATX/ITX Case wity 300W Power Supply Unit with Built In Card Reader.

It has vents on the sides (one on right for PSU and one on left for CPU fan) and top rear for exhausting hot air that rises.

I'm going to fit an intake on the bottom and wondered whether there was any type of fan I could fit to the rear as another intake?

I definitely could attach fans to the side vent, not sure of thickness. The issue isn't CPU cooler shoots hot air towards the side vent and adding a fan there would create a hot air trap.

The case isn't big enough for a rear facing CPU heatsink and fan.

Id definitely think about side fans, hot air will find its way out the top regardless so anything bringing cool air in is a plus(just not from the top, then all its doing is recirculating).
Fair point

It turns out I have hoarded over 10 large case fans over the years and some have barely been used.

This is the size of the vent on the side of the case.

Which fan shall I go with?

The vented area is 19 X 11cm if that helps.

I've taken a photo from an angle so you can see what I am working with.

The holes on the underside bare for an SSD towards the rear. The ones at the front can only be for breathing space as a fan fitted there would hit the mounting area.

I was considering moving the SSD to the bottom mount and removing the mounting area completed as have no optical drive and planning to use that space for an old PCI audio interface.

Good question, the case has a stand so holes on the base are on the base rather than side.

I haven't tested existing temperatures as I'm still waiting for the CPU.

Not even beyond viewing EUFI. Does it make a difference that I've only just fitted the CPU and cooler? Does it take time for thermal paste to bed in?

The case cost more than that and I specifically chose it for its dimensions and features.

It's not the case that's the problem given it was basically running in open air with first temperature given.

If I take the components out or the case, I imagine getting very similar temperatures.
I
need a case the can stand on the floor and is much smaller than a tower. I spent a long time doing research.

What I am sayingIsaying isdis that I still don't think the case is the problem.

I've removed it from the case.

It won't stay on using a Corsair 400w PSU. I've removed the RAM but should still be able to get into EUFI. Nope, it keeps turning off even when I press delete. PSU working fine on another Motherboard.

I've got it sat on the padding it came on in the box and anti-static.
