Max Payne 3!!!!

I don't see why having the game on consoles will 'ruin it' as they are hardly the most PC based gameplay. Shoot, run, shoot, slow-motion. It is the style of the game which gives it its edge and it had oodles of it.

Its not having a console version that ruins games, its console ports. They just don't seem to run well on pcs and the controls don't seem to suit mouse and keyboard, for example the fact that keyboards have a lot more buttons close to hand so stupid hud sub menus are not required.

It does when they start out as console games...

So Mirrors Edge, Street Fighter IV, Mass Effect, Knights of the Old Republic, Gear of War etc etc all suck?

But then, MP3 is apparently going to get a simultaneous release on all platforms, so by your reasoning, Dead Space, Bioshock and many other fantastic simultaneous release games all suck. Then there's the future simultaneous release titles like Alan Wake (the real sequel to Max Payne imo), Bioshock 2, Mass Effect 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Assassins Creed 2 and again, many others, will all suck.

The fact a game is released on a console before/at the same time as a PC game has bugger all to do with the quality of the game. It's all to do with the developers, and how much attention each platform gets from them, always has been and always will be.

I disagree. Personally, I think games do suffer from cross-porting, and it's becoming more and more apparent. Of the games you listed, whilst saying they suck is a little harsh, I didn't rate them. KotOR and Mass Effect were pretty good, but suffer from the hateful console radial menu and crappy inventory management. Mass Effect also suffered from a severe lack of gaming hours. The woeful side missions comprised far too much of the game, and trying to control the rover on a M&KB was painful. The other games were seriously lacking in places.

Get past the gloss of Mirrors Edge and Assassins Creed, and the games were dreadful. Bioshock, I never liked, too repetitive and linear. Modern Warfare and Gears of War bored me to death.

All subjective. I have nothing against consoles; I just don't think the games are very good.

About time would love to put the series to rest. It's been a good few days with game news. This and Chronicles of Riddick will keep me playing for a while.

Just a new Dungeon Keeper would make me exstatic now.. :D

I'll second the need for a new Dungeon Keeper, first two were brilliant games. Fluffy Bunnies anyone? ;)

Lets just hope the controls wont be as bad as the PC port of Lost Planet. OMG how awful was that? dont think im looking forward to thes tbh, 1&2 are up there with the best of them but this being an also ran with consoles stinks of badness.

If it was a game developed for the PC and then ported to consoles I wouldent be so harsh but history has shown that also rans are bad, very bad indeed.

Let's not forget re-releasing bully for the 360 which was unplayable on certain SKUs and Grand Theft Auto IV actually physically broke some PS3 SKUs, they had to be replaced by Sony which cost them a fortune. Imo GTAIV for the PC was also terribly optimised.

I can't think of a single game they've released since the old GTAs that has gone smoothly; it's always not worked with something, broken something or run terribly on something.

Bully was one of the worst released games (Americas Army 3 is about on par with that - though that works for some people!). It was pretty much unplayable until the patch and you had to wait months for that with no response from the publishers.

Max Payne just looks like another generic game in those screenshots - certainly won't be buying it at this rate.
