What's the hottest your coolant can get to before you need to start worrying?

Most coolant is OK upto 60c

As hot as that, I didnt think it would be anywhere near that. I certainly don't have anything to worry about around the 35 mark then

It's more a case of tubing temps as most are rated to 60 degrees but some are lower at 50 degrees.

Personally if you water hits over 50c you dont have enough rads. Thats imo of course. I dont like to see my water over 40c

Or not enough airflow to dissipate the heat

DDC pumps are only rated up to around 60 degrees I believe too. Like others have said you don't want your coolant anywhere near this temperature though.

I get worried if my water hit's 30 degrees. Currently sitting at 12.5 degrees out, 11.2 degrees in.

Thats way too cold! Do you wear thermals while gaming?
Mine sits at 20-24c, maxes around 29c, honestly its going to be a challenge to break 40c even with the most basic flow.

My radiators sit in a box on a windowsill so they intake the cold air from outside. I only have to have the window open a crack on a cold day to get very low temps such as low 30's on my 4670k when running IBT. The house itself is lovely and warm. Anyway, we are used to the cold up here.

I can get just under 30 on my AIO in late December with the window wide up and sat playing BF4 wrapped up. More of an experiment.

All you guys added a sensor somewhere in the loop? I can see my GPU Temp reaching 70 when gaming... dunno what's the temp of the water though....

My water never goes past 37 degrees at full load. Got one of these in an unused output from my bay res.

From my testing I have found that GPU temps are within 5 degrees of water temp. Which means that your water is probably 60C+.

geez...I have got 2X 7990 and a 4770k in the loop. Using 2 360 in a HAF case. dunno why was that... should I get a bigger resevoir?

If it was at a lower temp that might be within 5c but the higher temps get the more likely the heat isn't being transfered as its hard to heat up that much liquid with the cooling. The hotter the fluid the quicker it'll dissipate the heat when it hits the rads due to the particles moving at a higher rate.

Yeah, there seems to be more resistance as the heat rises between the gpu and the water, and the difference in temps gets larger.

I just did a quick test and im getting 20 degrees water temp, with 24 degrees idle GPU temp, then underload the temps change to 21 water temp and 37 gpu temp, and slowely raid untill they stopped at 28 / 46.

edit: i should really get some liquid pro on these GPUs, would proberbly drop the GPU temps back down in to the 30s.
