Maybe a new vive headset coming at CES

I'm hoping they have a new software implementation to improve the current headset, maybe a supersampling improvement, not sure I could justify another purchase :)

I've just bought a pre-owned Rift, got it for a snip, and am very happy with it but I really do notice the pixelation in everything. It feels like everything has been blown up and the gaps have been filled with empty space.

If the new Vive can improve the image quality inside then I'd be happy to take a punt on it and buy the graphics card required to drive it.

I won't be upgrading until the is a big leap forward in the technology used. But, I will be very interested to see what Vive are bringing out.

Do you think that this will be a portable headset like the Oculus go rather than a new desktop one?

I'd like a 4k per eye display with the output being upscale from a more manageable resolution for my gpu. That and wireless would get me rock hard. But I'd rather stick with oculus for the controllers and my games in the store

Also excited to see what gets announced tomorrow.

Even a 50% increase in resolution and everything else being equal would have me likely to upgrade. My vanilla 1080 manages to run Assetto Corsa with 1.5x SS, but consumer Volta will show up sooner or later anyway.
