+1 Couldn't have said it better myself.
Only Hatton and a few of his delusional fans think he deserves a rematch with Floyd, he was utterly outboxed.
What would be a superb fight is Cotto vs Floyd or Mosley vs Floyd, but he knows there too dangerous, the mans clever he only picks the fighter he knows he's likely to beat, he's a business man, money mayweather.![]()
theres money to be had in losing aswell, don't forget that. Mosley is looking ridiculously good though and hell, putting Margarito down isn't going to be making anyone rush into a arranging a fight with him.
But the point is less about who he might fight if/when he comes out, just that the stupid reporter asked questions basically Hatton fans wanted to hear, not a question a real reporter would ask Mayweather and people are acting like, he asked about Hatton he has a responsibility/requirement to answer. any real reporter would have asked him questions he wanted to answer, not questions he wouldn't then calling Mayweather a bell end for bad reporting. The way he responded is how any good promoter act's, he said what he wanted, not what the reporter wanted him to say.
iT wasn't even close to a "classic" fight that would warrant a rematch, its not a champion and the number 1 contender that needs a rematch. Its the champion, vs a pretender, in a fairly poor fight where Mayweather was SO FAR the winner a rematch wouldn't even be remotely interesting. If the fight was close, the title changed hands, or even if it was just a classic with Hatton going down but coming back strong and staying in till the end then maybe, but it was none of those things.
Ali vs Foreman, classic fight, rematch woulda been great, Mayweather vs Hatton, crap fight, not remotely close, a rematch is only wanted by a few thousand Hatton fans who think he could win a rematch.
deluded fans think Mayweather is still thinking about it, non delusional people realise theres nothing remotely interesting about a rematch. I would say theres now about 10 people Mayweather could fight against who would be fair better matches, far better boxers and will take far larger box office numbers because it would be interesting. 99.9% of the world knows Mayweather would win easily in a boring fight, hence, its not a big draw fight. If he's coming out of retirement for money, any sane person can see the bigger draw/money is in a Mosley, Cotto, or, one of a half dozen other fighters.
