Mayweather vs. Alvarez

Another display of pure boxing genius. I feel ashamed for even 'thinking' that Canelo 'might' get through with a big shot, Mayweather is an exceptional talent who will deservedly go down in boxing history as one of the greats of all time. Every fighter has strengths and weaknesses, but he hasn't shown a single weakness.

Who next?

I'd like to see Khan.. In London. With myself in attendance.
Not because I can think Khan could win.. But because its likely that'd be the only way I could see one of the best boxers to have lived live.

Great fight.. I had Canelo winning only 3 rounds at a push.

I hate FMs arrogance and confidence but have to admire his ability.

Fell asleep and missed the fight. Was hoping for Canelo to win but seems Floyd hasn't let his quality slip one bit and is still just as good now as ten years ago.

Why is there all this talk of Khan? Has he said he wants to fight Mayweather again now or are people just saying it would be a good fight? Khan wouldn't last 2 minutes, he's fast and that's it, he can't take a punch for toffie. Plus Floyd has an amazing defense and has power to back it up.

I'd still like to see Pacman vs Floyd.

What a talent mayweather is, just a shame that question mark will always be over his head when he basically ducked pacquiao - and on recent results I don't know why! He would have wiped the floor with manny

Interesting fight. Mayweather's tactical prowess & speed was to much. Whereas Alvarez just wanted to stand and bang and couldn't get near enough.

Impressive again from Mayweather - love him or hate him, he's a talented boxer who has a great gameplan for every fight and sticks to it.

Not the best of fights overall, and mayweather knew he was winning easy and just got on his bike for the last 3 rounds, but again tactically, movement, gameplan etc - all spot on.

Mayweather also claiming he dislocated his elbow in the middle rounds (no mention of this immediately after the fight)

Floyd Mayweather 'dislocated elbow' in Saul Alvarez win

How the hell did one judge have that as a draw - I had it 5 rounds up to Mayweather.

Call me mad but would like to see khan vs floyd. Only guy who can match him for speed, who also has great boxing ability. No doubt floyd would win but would be interesting swing how he deals with similar/greater speed.

Probably because it was so so boring. Mayweather could have demolished Alvarez from about 2 minutes into the first round. (EDIT Obviously at this point he was still testing him out and probably wasn't wise to commit).

Good example of why I rarely watch boxing - with the skill gulf between them it shouldn't have gone beyond about 6 rounds. (I guess if he did dislocate his elbow it would be somewhat explain why he held off with so many punches).

Coach Floyd Mayweather Senior wants his son to fight Britain's Amir Khan next.

Would love to see this......Amir is an excellent boxer. Not the hardest hitter nor does he have a great chin but he has amazing hand speed.

I'm sure Mayweather Snr would like to see him fight Khan be an easy night for his son to pocket 30-40 million dollars!

Khan is quick but he'd be eating punches off Mayweather all night and it wouldn't take many for him to be flat on his back!

If Khan beats Alexander then the fight is very much on the cards though I reckon, Floyd will promote the hell out of it and get that fight at Wembley he talked about with Hatton, doesn't change the fact Kahn would get totally schooled though!

Tbh it's difficult to see who can beat Mayweather, think only age will get the better of him in the end if he keeps going on and on but he's not got much mileage on the clock really as no one can get a decent glove on him!

The Pacquiao fight really was the one but the ship sailed on that one a long time ago now sadly and Pacman isn't the fighter he was.

Pac is done, it would have been a great fight about three years ago. Pac is so flat footed, now it would be a whitewash.

His style has also put him through many wars.

Definitely. No way Pacquiao can be on the same level as Mayweather, with the amount of punishment (notably when Marquez sparked him out) he has taken. Sure Pacquiao is the sort of boxer that throws punches out of nowhere and difficult to read but he gets hit, and Mayweather has got KO power, he wouldn't have a chance.

Khan would be an interesting prospect for his hand speed, like everyone has said. He also has great movement and footwork (before he starts chicken dancing). Main problem is he also gets hit easily, and can't stick to game plans, which is something Mayweather is a master of. Khan doesn't have the discipline.

Would be a no brainer fight though- Mayweather would make mega bucks, break attendance records, and know he will beat Khan easily. Khan should know he can't beat Mayweather (but he does seem stupid enough so he might think he can), but it's also win-win for him as he'll make mega bucks as well, has nothing to lose, will suffer no shame in losing to Mayweather, will be able to say he's fought a legend still at his peak (unlike Barrera), and if he somehow wins then he in turn will be a legend.

Would like to see Ward vs Mayweather, but that could only be at middleweight, and that would probably be impossible, especially with Mayweather only being 5ft 8. Would be cool for him to be a 6 weight champ though.

He will not extend his show time contract. He will not loose as he will retire undefeated and finish his contract in the next 2 years at 48-0. He makes around 100m per fight. 40m is from show time alone, % of ppv sales, endorsements ect.

Kahn will not get schooled, he would get ripped apart
