Diffuser is a mock up. They always are. It will have zero relevance to the actual one that will be run on the car. At least they haven't completely boxed it off like they did last year

Expect the same of the front wing too.

The sidepods look odd from the front view. I guess the louvered bit above the intake is to aid airflow to the top of the floor/diffuser area.

Yep.

I got excited when I saw the car underneath the canvas, genuinely thought that they'd actually done the separated crash structure/sidepod that Ferrari are rumored to be doing.

Oh well :o
 
Not the best looking McLaren ever, but no doubt there will be some tweaks and additions to come. The RB cars have always looked pretty plain to me, all the speed comes from the clever bits you don't necessarily see. That looks like it's McLaren's route this year rather than again coming up with something revolutionary.

Plus nobody will give a toss what it looks like if it wins a championship.
