Iainb - any more info on this forthcoming new service?

It launched for corporates today, the consumer/business side will be launching 'soon' aimed at the user who needs to use a higher data transfer than say just viewing web-pages online, and will allow you to use your phone as a modem for a laptop, though their isnt anything to stp anyone purchasing W&W Flext now and then adding this at a later date....

WEll my first full day is now drawing to an end and the battery is at 33% i expected it to last around a day tbh.

Ive been on the phone for around 30 mins+ and remember every 5 mins u are on the phone takes 1 hour off stand by time(roughly) Ive had blue tooth on. Its set to check and download email every 30 mins. Ive been sending and receiving emails on it. Ive been browsing using the 3g and the wireless card plus i been fiddling all day long so all in all it doesnt look that bad now.

i may flash the firmware tomorrow as im dying to see if it can be made faster.

all in all im just searching for programs that might be useful, and trying to decide if i need a high speed secure digital card or whether a normal one wil

any idea on the max size capacity of sd card you can use? A 4Gb would be incredible dont u think?

4GB cards work pretty much fine. But some earlier firmware has an issue with the camera. Basically if you set the camera to save to memory card, then on larger cards, it can't seem to address over 2GB and fails to save the image. Newer F/W fixes this.

No point going for a highspeed card really. Unless you have a camera or regularly transfer files from a hi-speed card reader, not much point.

4gb card? What you plan on using it for then?

I have encountered my first sort of problem

I cant seem to send MMS's i try to send them as they just sit in the outbox, i have tryed send/receive as well in case its linked to them. Its a bit head scratching but not a major issue

I cant seem to receive mm's either a sit says i have to go and download the picture.

Hmm must be a setting i guess, it might because i used a old payg sim as ithad a good number?

i might pop into see them later

Edit 2 Right all of a sudden MMS started sending on screen? Must send at intervals or something i guess? Wonder why i cant receive them

Edit 3 Battery has now died after approx 30 hours+ of heavy usage

Edit 4 found extended batteries here

I am tempted but it looks mahoosive, might look at the vario or compact but no 3g is a loss so the pro is the only choice perhaps I will wait

went to have a look at one today in my local t-mobile shop got a good demo and it was sweet, he told me it was £99.99 on Flext 30 but the t-mobile website has them for £69.99 anyway they were out of stock should have some tomorrow, if I take in a print out of the t-mobile website do you think they will match the handset price?

You wont want one with out the web n walk add on which brings the handset cost down to £69.99 they should have told you that

Oh right will mention that, I think he was just looking at the flext 30 prices will mention that if they have it in stock tomoz, its a cracking deal with 25% off line rental for life, no dodgy cashback or anything

You also get 25% off the web n walk as well if u sign up at the same time so its £26.25 + web n walk

Flext 35 + web'n'walk £ 31.88 i also took the insurance out at £7 a month i think it is..... sounds expensive but these handsets sure are dear to replace! even the cheapest pda/phone is around £300 sim free.

Plus its all to easy to break one of these babys.

Overall its still under £40 a month which is £20 cheaper than my orange contract although they have started to match the flex t tariffs
