Me 1 - 0 Mouse

We had a lot of building work done, and I woke up to find a little mouse sat on my bedside table eating some chocolate I'd being enjoying.

Scared the jesus out of me at first.

I just used a "normal" mouse trap, with the same chocolate.

The females in the family thought I was being inhumane and took to calling me a murder for a while :(

My sister thinks I'm evil for killing it but women just think of a cute little animal rather than the fact that they are a health hazard and prolifically urinate and crap everywhere :(

If I'd caught it live and released it, there's still a chance that it'd just become someone else's problem anyway. As it was 4am I was lazy and flushed it down the bog... it'll probably mutate into a zombie supermouse in the sewers or something now!

I Love the advert where it says

ALSO KILLS MICE :p What about Elephants will it kill them an all ? How about Crocodiles ??? How effective is this ???

:p

Agree, women are just silly with things like this.

I caught a mouse at college once, and kept it as a class pet for weeks.

It ended up with the class and the teacher having a massive arguement, nobody in the class wanted the mouse, and so when I removed it via throwing it out of the window, for some reason the females in the class SUDDENLY cared.

Seriously, this is a vicious bit of kit. It takes 4xC batteries and can make 12 kills apparently on those. When you switch it on, the noise it makes while charging the cap(s) sounds pretty evil :D

I could see the blue sparks and forks of electricity running over the mouse's frying corpse. I reckon it'd make a good stun gun if you adapted it.

It does say on the box to keep away from family pets and not to touch it yourself so I'm assuming it probably wouldn't do a dog or cat much good.

You made me wee a bit :(

I want one & Yes I will overclock it with a 650ma derv battery :D

Me = 4-5 now, Mouse= free to live another day.

Only takes a bit of effort tbh.

Clever... what's holding the container up - looks like a bit of card with some bait stuck to it or something?

I tried the bit of card over a bin trick and various live-catch traps with no success over several weeks - I think the little fella was too smart for his own good as one of the live catch traps I had was situated about 2 feet away from the zap-trap of doom. :D

Just one of those kebab stick things (wooden) bent at a 90deg angle.

poor thing :(

i catch 'em and release down the road. bit of digestive biscuit and a simple trap, sorted.

Apparently you're supposed to release them at least 2km away as they usually end up finding their way back? If released in a residential area it'll become someone else's nightmare as well :(

There is No fun unless the Mouse is smashed like in the cartoons. Are there any Mouse smashing traps about ???

My cocker spaniel found a dead bird that flew in to one of our windows. It was quite amusing watching my dead chase the dog around the garden with a bird in it's muzzle. Luckily it comes from a working dog family so it has the softest bite therefore, no blood flying everywhere.

You've probably just caught the same one 4-5 times!

humane mouse traps are a waste of time unless your then taking the mouse miles out into the country. The mouse will either find it's way back into your house or someone elses so you should kill them they are vermin after all. My personal trap of choice is the classic traditional wood with a sprung arm baited with peanut butter as they can't resist it!

My cats are always bringing mice and shrews into the house. They rarely eat them - just play with them. I've tried catching them and throwing them out but the cats only bring them back.

I'm very wary of leaving the mouse and the cat having a play as the mouse will end up dead in some inaccessible place. They can stink a bit when decomposing! But nothing is as bad as a rotting shrew.

I now kill the rodents at the earliest opportunity - usually with a hockey stick.
