I'm not gonna be able to use my left arm for quite some time cause I've just had major surgery on it and I'm looking for ideas of meals I can eat with just one arm. So far I've had a curry and some toast. Obviously I cant prepare the meals so my mother will very kindly be doing that for me :D

Any suggestions would be appreciated, basically foods I dont have to cut or can cut with 1 arm.

Cheers,

G

lol, and this is why i love OcUk.

Right, well where to start. Roasted swan with elderberry plum compot is nice.

I think you will be ok, i have 2 arms and being the fat slob i am i rarely cut any food, just stick it on a fork and bite at it.

Stay away from chop sticks. THese could be trouble. :D

Nearly anything. Just use the side of the fork to chop up anything you would usually use a knife for. Unless it's a really tough peice of steak or something though, then your out of luck :)

Can't believe I'm actually replying to this I mean it's pretty obvious. Chinese food is good because it's always pre cut up ready for chopstick action.

But anything soft you can stab with a fork really.

mmmmm I love chinese :D

this thread is a little pointless I'll admit, but its taking my mind off the agony and making me actually smile

lol a knork sounds dangerous

That'll put you in jail I'm afraid. All swans in the UK are crown property and it's an offence to kill or cook one.

As for the OP, I think last night was the first time in ages I cooked myself something I needed a knife for...

As has been suggested curries & chinese are the obvious ones but pasta, stews etc are also easy.

Stuff you can pick up too - burgers, pizzas, kebabs.

It's not going to be as limiting, especially if someone else is cooking.

Soup...

and don't forget to take your mum out for a nice meal when your arm is better (which I hope doesn't take too long) to thank her. :)
