Mechanical HD vibration

I've recently got a new PC, really pleased with it, FT-02 case  :) But my Samsung F3 drive really does my head in with the vibration noise. The new case has at least got rid of the resonating-high-then-low sound. I have: SSD for OS+apps, Samsung F3 for a) steam games b) downloads and Seagate Greens for data and backup. I read a while ago the Seagate Greens aren't recommended for os/apps/games due to performance?

The only reason a HD would ever vibrate is if the spinal/platter wasn't in the centre! I've a good mind to start buying HDs and return them if I'm not happy with the vibration..

Can anyone recommend a F3 replacement non-spin-cycle-washing-machine-sounding hd? :)

Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM or Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 2TB

hmm only 2 to choose from on OCUK atm.

Why not try doing a Bungee Mod?

I actually did this in my old Antec Sonata II case with little success - maybe the cord was too tight. I'm not sure this is an option in my FT02, I'll check it out though. I do have some spare bungee cord somewhere..

but it's 2012 - why are we still having to do this! etc
