mechanically recovered pork

If you hadn't read the ingredients and just eaten it you'd have probably enjoyed it :o

As far as I'm concerned as long as it doesn't make you sick and it tastes nice, it's fair game :D

Is it bad to eat, is it just pork or will it have bits of other things like tendans, balls, eyeballs, heart, brain etc... in?

Thanks
Will.
It's fine. Yes it's full of all of that stuff, what's the problem? It tastes so good.

I suppose it's no different to my making stock from a chicken carcass really. Only difference is you'd be eating what I'd throw out cos it's too fiddly to scrape off the bones.

Mechanically separated meat has it downsides. Generally speaking, the animals used for MSM come from batteries or equivalent. This is not only seen as bad by some for the obvious reason, but also because of the crap they pump into these animals to keep them barely alive long enough to be given the chop. Steroids and other chemicals, even sedatives to stop them eating/killing each other when in their cramped conditions.

Why is this any worse than normal cuts of meat? Well, I can clearly see labelled if the steak or pork fillet I am buying is organic, free ranged etc. I can't see this on MSM. MSM also includes the bone marrow and the bone marrow is going to contain more of the chemicals these animals are fed, and is much more likely to carry nasties the animal may have had.

To top it all off, it tastes like the proverbial brown stuff. Nasty. There is a reason the meat found in MSM wouldn't be used in normal cuts.

Certainly puts me off eating rubbish like hot dogs etc. I dont mind eating meat but connective tissues and ligamets etc no thanks - always try to avoid the fat and skin etc when I have meat.

Cant agree with the notion its just meat so eat it, its the crap left thats made to look like meat.. yuck!

It's ligaments, gristle, bone marrow (and crushed bone in the case of poultry) gelatine, you name it.

Yes, and they all taste awesome! Spam and Haggis for the win!

Man up and eat it - no point wasting any part of an animal imo.
