Medal of Honor Above & Beyond 11 Dec 2020

Sign me up.

I think the actual game will be great anyway, but surely multiplayer will go places too.

WW2 stuff has always played great, more so in the simpler times of 1942 and Day Of Defeat.

One of the devs (i believe) has been spewing some info on Reddit.

Recommended spec:

CPU: Intel i7 9700K (or comparable AMD)

RAM: 16GB DDR4

Graphics Card: NVIDIA RTX 2080.

A highly recommended SSD install. 160GB install size with double the space for the unpack. That's the deal with Oculus, unsure about the release on Steam.

Game info: single player

There are 6 missions in the game. Each mission is broken out into 9 segments. Think of a segment as a level. Some segments are longer than others. Some are focused more on big narrative moments, others are longer levels focused on shooting. Some are on rails sequences where you're on a moving vehicle.

Multi player:

5 modes, 12 players, 12 maps. Dedicated servers. Private matches. AI bot backfill so that public games are always full.

Single player sounds like a lot like call of duty 2, totally down with that being my favourite of the series. Multiplayer could be a struggle with the system specs, hopefully it scales down some and there's a playable minimal spec. I was hoping that the game could burst the bubble and go super popular over the holidays, those requirements might hinder that.

That is going to take an eternity to download on my meagre broadband :(

Not to mention that my 1070 is going to struggle at decent settings and I still can't get my hands on a 3080FE!

Does look good though I swear that last video started to make me feel queasy on a 2D screen :o:p.

Would be good if any of 4 owners of a 3080 or 6800/XT could report on their experiences with VR :).

Can't get my 6800XT to work with the HP Reverb G2.

Which is a shame, because this game looks awesome!

Quick quotation for anyone fret on the high requirements.

"Chances are your 2070 will be just fine for the most part. What’s your cpu? The thing about this game is that there are so many levels and modes that we decided to be conservative about the recommended spec.

Depending on your cpu I’d bet that most of the game will play just fine, and you might see more dips on specific particularly demanding single player sequences or specific large multiplayer maps + modes that consolidate all players to the same place at once with rocket launchers (Blast Radius.)

And, I don’t like making blanket recommendations for people about perf because some people don’t care if ASW kicks in all the time as long as it looks good, and others would gladly drop the visuals all the way down to keep a high framerate."

Hoping it works on my 3900x/5700xt. Trying to get a 6800xt but it's like banging my head against a brick wall and going to need a a couple massive SSD's at this rate. Games have got massive lately

I have just bought another 1tb SSD as games are getting huge now. Now got 2.5 Tb of gaming space. Also as the games are so big un-installing/ re-installing takes so long I just end up leaving them on there.

Probably, but being honest i'm drinking my coffee very slowly this morning. Normally i wouldn't comment, but it's a sound bet that the game would have been no more than £30 if it had remained in the hands of oculus.

It'll be tonight before i can buy it anyway, hopefully there's a more varied review pool to mush over during the course of the day. I have concerns about the locomotion and gun play mechanics, very confused as to what they went with.
