Medieval II - Just got it and it's ace!

Ive ordered this based on this thread and i enjoyed the previous total war games.. is it worth modding it straight away?

Most definitely. I dont play the stock games anymore - not that there's anything that wrong with them. It's just the various modifications offer so much more.
 
such an amazing game... gets a bit boring being english with the french always at your gates for the first 100 turns but after you crush them and start taking on some foreigners like the spanish it gets fun :D

even better are crusades, ditch them once you are near the opponent and go and take over some land at the other end of the map :D

set it to hard though people, its no fun otherwise :P

Whats the best mod, is the long road one necessary for game length or is the normal game ok?
 
downloaded it before release (yes...piracy is bad mkay :p) was only able to play for a few minutes before it would BSOD, so gave up on it, but from what i was able to play i found it so good i went and bought the special edition one, i love the freaking game :D

The Long Road offers a huge amount of improvements, including the 900 turns. I've played a few mods and this is the best in my honest opinion.

Downloading it today to play it, wanted more turns etc so this sounds ideal :D

sounds like i need to buy this asap.

eps as my MTW : VI is crashing all the time, no errors just closes itself as if it was never running :( does it after a save and resuming game and when going to fight a battle.

never used to :(

Well I guess not everyone can have good taste. This would be great fun on multi-player with different races.

Surprised no ones done a LOTR version. Or have they?
 
Just tried the long road mod and not impressed atm. I'am playing as russia and i'am getting gfx glitches on map and around unit cards. Is this a problem others are getting?
