Trebuchet ?
Not much is going to help you against bears as they are massive. Assuming you mean a hand weapon, and that we can't have firearms, I'd go for a polearm like a partisan, bill or glaive.

A trebuchet can launch a 90kg man over 300m using a counterweight.
Use it to launch yourself out of immediate danger.

I wish I knew more about medieval weapons. I went to a live action replay of a medieval battle when I was a kid and it was AWESOME
