Mega File Sharing

Ah, nice to see that my post got the expected replies.
Personally I don't care. I think the guy does nothing more than aid piracy and I can only hope his new service goes the way of his old.

Yer, I don't agree with piracy. I don't own a single pirate piece of software, game, music of film because very basically I believe that the world doesn't owe me a living and that I should pay for what I want.
Really not difficult to comprehend - just impossible for the usual suspects here.

I loved the "towing of the company line" from a couple of people. Of course this service is purely there for the moving of legitimate data. That's why people need TB of space to move around legitimate files that won't be shared with other people.

I'm sure the great person is enjoying adding to his already substantial amount of wealth off the back of all your "legitimate file moving".

Clearly you do care.

50GB free won't last for long. If the world signed up to that holy hell how much storage his data centre would need.... before long it will drop to 5GB or even less you watch.

The vast majority of people wont use anywhere near the 50GB and the storage will use some form of thin provisioning so they won't need anywhere near the total amount for every signup.

Clearly you should care less, it's going to take off no matter what you think of it so stop getting annoyed by it. It'll be used for illegal matters, and also for legal matters, before MU closed down pretty much every legal download out there mirrored to MU and it'll be exactly the same again, it's going to be mega.

I think the limited bandwidth is there to prevent mass piracy.

Did anyone see Kim dot com on the cannonball run before he was 'famous'?

There's more on Facebook right now.

Christ sometimes you come across as a smart ass at times. Facebook didn't have 250k users all trying to sign up and upload files at the same time. This service is a hell of a lot smaller than the network Facebook run behind the scenes.

Christ some people still moan about something they get for nothing.

Not to mention it's probably more like 500k+ by now. It was 100k by the first hour and 250k by the second, that was 2 hours ago.
