How is it any different to drop box?

It's more secure than any other cloud storage product. And it's just as easy to upload and share links to illegal content on those if you are so inclined.

Well your comment "this is the new way to share illegal content" is entirely a result of you buying into the hype.

Other storage products have been around for ages. How is this new?

New as in what people will start to use because of the increase in space.

Simply offering a more superior product.

Space is cheap these days.

I would bet a decent sum of money that other cloud storage providers will magically increase their free space for users some time soon

I certainly do like MEGA and Kim mentioned on twitter that desktop and mobile clients are coming ASAP.
