Meguiars - Excellent!

An old phrase about polishing a turd comes to mind...... :p

Nah seriously. She scrubbed up well. I swear by that clay bar now, got mine carefully stored wrapped in plastic for next time I want to crack it out.

The ScratchX stuff confuses me, are you supposed to use it like T-Cut (apply + elbow grease + rub like a bas) or use it like a wax? Apply + wait for haze then rub off?

I love the Meguiars 3 stage stuff. The paint cleaner is awesome. Turned my rex white again :) Don't think it had been cleaned in all the time it's been over here, certainly never had a polish and wax...now it's all shiny and silky smooth :)

What do you guys to 'black-up' the tyres. Spent 3 hrs cleaning the LCR with the AutoGlum set I got with the car last sat...but grey tyres are letting it down :(

There's quite a few products, bet get a paintbrush to apply them but i wouldnt get the Megs one as it sprays black marks all over the car once you drive afterwards. Use the turtlewax tyre, cockit, bumper shine white spray stuff. Just spray it on tyres, and leave for 5 mins then brush in.

the only problem with tyre blackening stuff is as soon as you drive it, the sidewalls are black but the bottom bits grey :p

Tom.

Ive shifted to the dark side.

had used meguiars kit for a short while after a few years of autoglym, last weekend I went a little mad and bought a full zymol kit and the lehm klay and lehm klay lub aswell as the autowash and leather cleaner and leather conditioner.

went for the concourse wax, 164 pounds a tub ive hardly used any and done the whole car twice since I bought it.

really easy to apply the wax too, unlike meguiars which took me ages to buff up.

obviously there is a big improvment but im not sure all that kit was worth near 400 pounds of an improvment.

Looks really clean like new.

Wish I had the paitence to ever clean my car, it was red once :D

However it might get a clean at its service, I think the garage thinks its too muddy to work on and get someone to clean it. :D

Took a good 5 hours but looks far better in the flesh than in my naff photo taken after the sun went in :(

The 530 badge looks a bit wonky.

I reckon it's a rebadged 520i ;) :D

Those wheels are gash too. Would look so much better if they were bigger :(
