I can't contain myself any longer :)

I have this problem that as soon as the band plays their last chord its as though I'd never been there and I often think 'Did that just happen?'.

My memorable gigs are in 2 categories :
1 - Gigs that were amazing at that very moment
2 - Gigs that will go down in history

At that very moment gigs:
Queen supporting Mott The Hoople (sorry chrisd)
Silverhead supporting Nazareth
Budgie at the George Hotel Burslem
Hustler supporting Queen on their 1st tour
Judas Priest 1st tour
Van Halen supporting Black Sabbath
Sex pistols at Wolverhampton and Burton
Clawfinger at the Rigger (about 4 years ago)
The Wildhearts at The Sugamill (about 2 years ago)
Airbourne at The Sugamill (about 2 weeks ago)

Gigs that go down in history:
There are 100s but highlights include -
Led Zeppelin at Trentham Gardens 1971
Led Zeppelin at Earls Court twice in 1975
Led Zeppelin at Knebworth 1979
Pink Floyd at Trentham Gardens 1974
Deep Purple at Trentham Gardens Mk2 & Mk3
Alex Harvey Band at Trentham Gardens (mid 70s)
ELP at Trentham Gardens (early 70s)
Judas Priest at Trentham Gardens with Iron Maiden supporting (late 70s)
Bruce Springsteen at NEC 1980
Blizzard Of Ozz at Kings Hall Stoke 1980!
The Who at Bingley Hall twice (one with Keith)
Kiss at Birmingham Odeon 1976
Rush at Manchester Apollo (1st tour)
Ted Nugent at Manchester Apollo (1st tour)

theres so many

That is a problem  :D

Your post has just reminded me of some more.
Queen, Ted Nugent and Deep Purple all in the 70s.

Also to add:
Blue Oyster Cult - 1978
ZZ Top - 1984

Great, yet another person who's seen Zep, why the hell can't Robert Plant agree to go on tour, goddam it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:mad:

because he knows that it's a terrible idea, and some things should stay in the past where they belong and were best.

I'd normally agree with you, but in this case, I have a selfish attitude when it comes to Zep, I've seen everyone else that I want to and don't want to go to the grave never having seen them and missing out last year still bugs me like hell.

Amazingly I saw every major rock act of the 70s several times over but I never got to see those two acts live :(
It took me until last year to actually get a live bootleg DVD of ZZ Top and that's from the early days before Eliminator.

At last, I've seen some bands that you haven't.:p

I went to the Hammersmith Odeon back in the mid 80's, asking if there were any BOC tickets left, they sold me two returns, about five rows from the front, a great result and they were class as well.

I only saw ZZ Top at Donington and they were only the third band on I think, not bad, but far from great for me.

Donnington 1990 (because it was my first one)

Leeds 2003 - the first two days anyway as the third day was pap.

Metallica at Amsterdam in 2004. Enough said

However, the most memeorable gig I have been to was the "Jammy Little Devils" at the Wedgewood Rooms in Pompey in 1993. The Little Angels were supporting Van Halen that year so they did a few warm up gigs. Small venue, just them, brilliant. Even had a couple of beers with the band after the gig as they came out into the bar when most folk had left. Not too bad considering it was my 21st birthday and they were my favourite band at the time.

Plus all the Thunder gig's i've been too, too many to list.

I have got to agree with this!

My biggest regret gig wise is not seeing The Who in the 70s :(

The first time I saw them, me and my mate decided to stay behind because of the traffic and walked around the cattle shed (Bingley Hall).
We got to the side entrance where a white Rolls Royce was waiting and out walked Keith Moon who was about 6 foot in front of us.
There were 3 girls standing by us who were screaming their heads off and one of their Dads was obviously waiting to take them home.
He kept telling them to calm down & hurry up then said "Who is he anyway?"
I've still got the programme somewhere.
I've spoken to Pete Townshend many times but only about steam trains.

Heres the programme - The Who 1975
