Memorable Gigs

Dave Matthews - had been a fan of his band for years but they never toured in Europe (while I knew of them anyway)

Yea, for ages they only did about 1 gig every couple of years or so in England. Thankfully he did a solo tour in 2006 and I went to Manchester for it and he's done a few here since, and...

Three of the most memorable gigs for me from any artist/band were:
  • Eric Clapton and friends at Royal Albert Hall, London August 2006
  • Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds at New Theatre, Oxford 2 March 2007
  • Dave Matthews Band at Wembley Arena, London 30 May 2007

They all knocked my socks off

It was a good few months for gigs:p

A few off the top of my head:

AC/DC/Van Halen at Donington
Pink Floyd at Earls Court
Queen at Wembley Stadium
Rush anywhere at anytime
The Jam at Brighton
Kiss at New Orleans Superdome during Mardis Gras

And I'd like to thank Mr Poole for not posting his list, as it would just wind me up.;)

My most memorable gig was July 16th 2005 - seen Rammstein in Glasgow's SECC. Am hopefull they'll be touring again soon :)

I've a few lined up for this year though:

Mark Knopfler at the Edinburgh playhouse 18/05
Neil Diamond at Hampden 05/06
Def Leppard / Whitesnake / Black Stone Cherry at the SECC 17/06
Runrig at Edinburgh Castle 26/07

So far :p

December 8th 2003 - Glasgow SECC :)

First Gig & therefore the best gig - Iron Maiden :D

Only been to 3 others:

2004:
Offspring - crap - such a shame too

2006:
Tenacious D - Awesome!
Iron Maiden - Amazing again - only 4 days after the D as well :D

Metallica last year at wembley will be hard to beat, although I've never actually seen a single band live (that I like) and said "that was crap"

Chimaira and The Black Dahlia Murder stand out as most intense/enjoyable.

Marilyn Manson - birmingham NIA on the grotesk burlesque tour
Iron Maiden - also at the NIA dance of death tour
Night Wish - Carling Academy Once tour (whilst tarja was still with them)
Nine Inch Nails - also at the Carling Academy in brum last year (my favourite gig ive been to by far)
oh and H.I.M in 2007 not really a fan of them but was still a good night.

2004 Red Hot Chili Peppers Hyde Park with James Brown :D

I really wanted to go to that, but couldnt get tickets :( went to see them at derby in 06 i think it was, although still cool, dont think it was as good as the Hyde Park event would have been

For me it's gotta be the Foo Fighters here at the Notts Arena last year. Really good mix of new and old stuff :)

Tool - London Astoria 2005

Lodestar supported, ex members of UK band Senser.

15 minutes of the Smoke Box cover. Animated like the CD cover. Whilst a bass noise like a far off earthquake continuously played, it traveled up through my feet into my chest and made me feel sick.
It went dark, and then they started to play "Third Eye". 15 minutes later I had drool all down the front of my shirt.

I'll never forget that, ever.... Just awesome.

Crowd surfing (and eventually falling about 6 feet) to Kerbdog "Dry Riser" at the first T in the park where the crowd was about 30 people at best, not one of my better ideas.
I remember that for all sorts of reasons :).

Leeds fest 2005 was awesome for me, big group of us from uni and loads of great bands - including getting to see the pixies for the first (and likely last) time live.
