hey,
hehe, np :) same here actually, uni just started a couple of weeks ago, so...

Problem has repeated for me, it seems to have something to do with video, but can't pinpoint it. I thought I had it down to winamp streaming only, but it also happened to me on windows media player classic and once on power DVD as well.
xp x64, I managed to get a copy, but haven't got around to actually installing it. Mainly because I never bothered to partition my drives so I only have a C: and a D:, and I don't want windows on my D:, lol. I looked arond at some softwares which can split, but haven't had time to invesitgate more into it.

Drivers, yea, same as you pretty much. I looked around, saw that not many peopel were getting them and not that much info on them as being good or anything. Also, they don't officially support 7950s, so didn't really feel like. I might give the 92.91 (i think) another try though.

Hmm, wasn't really planning to to be honest. One reason for spending so much on this computer was that I wouldn't need to change anything for quite some time. But, i'l wait until next year, and if it seems like that that board solves all the problems which we have with this one, I might get it. Better to replace a part than live with these annoying problems. The overclocking thing doesn't bother me much because I don't really plan to overclock for some time, not another couple of years at least. Are you planning to get one of them?

Hows your system holding up otehrwise? Everythign fixed since you went to the updated chipset, the 92.91s on the x64 reinstall?

Hello! Great to hear from you!

I think that's a wise call. Very recently, I've had the oppertunity to test one of the P5n32 Premiums, and would you believe, all of the problems present on the Deluxe SE seem to have carried across....maybe with one or two extra into the bargin!! If I get my hands on it again, I'll be sure to let you know any further findings.

Xp64 seems to be holding up pretty well. I did have one BSOD/reset, this time when I exited Oblivion, I'd just finished a stint of an hour or two, hit esc, then clicked exit, and BAM! No possible explanations other than the fact that I had one or two extra USB devices connected at the time it happend, though I have no idea if they were responsible. Haven't been able to replicate the problem since.

Not tried many other games yet, but will do in the next week or so.

Strange that your video problem is still present, I've certainly had no issues with Youtube, but I only tested two full length films as I generally use a seperate machine viewing videos, so I may still have the glitch, again, I'll alert you immediately if it pops up.

Like I said it may be a dodgy audio/video codec that has sneaked onto your system and is causing a conflict, you could try a clean install on another partition and just use the bare minimum, leave out winamp or any codec packs and try VLC player instead, this has it's own set of "self contained" codecs which don't intefere with the rest of the OS.

Hello!

That sound VERY interesting. I was going to suggest turning the memory speed down to 533mhz to see if it made a difference in stability as it did seem to on the "Premium" model when I was testing it, so if they've GENUINELY improved DDR800 performance, it could be crucial.

Please report back when you can. I'm not currently in the position to try mine, will be this weekend, so any info you have in the mean time would be very helpful ;) .

Just a preliminary test (not had time to do anything more, sorry).
Rise of nations, hung as usual. Then again, its more and more likely its just a bug in this particular game (tried two different copies, same result).
Haven't tried winamp video in some time now, but i'm going to leave it running when I can to test that out.
Let me know if theres something in particular you want me to run.

I know this is a very very bad thread revival, but was trawling through it and saw that you're still active on the forums. Was wondering if you ever did end up solving this issue?

I'm on the dual 8800 GTX's now, with still the same problem >_< No more BSOD's or artifacting, but random freeze up's still there.

And yes, horrible thread revival :p
