memorystick with easy use encryption

I have seen some where you run a little program on an unencrypted part that then unlocks another drive (part of the memory stick)

I assumed they all worked like this but the last two had some sort of vault software you ran and dropped the files in...

does not need to be anything fancy and 8/16gb will do

Personally I've only used a "SafeStick" usb drive. Just plug it in and it runs a bit of software on the drive like a cd would and asks for your password. Nothing installed on the client pc a all and when it is unlocked, it functions just like a normal usb drive.

Not cheap though at about £75 for 8Gb

This. Why spend £75 quid, when you can buy any old USB stick and stick an encrypted container on it for free that is as good, if not better than buying a safestick or similar.
