Twitter is banning anyone who tweets it for 12 hours :D

Is there a story behind this?

I tested it and got banned then told my brother to do it who also got banned :P
 
Is this the twitter equivalent of "Post in this thread and get suspended for 24 hours"?

Nobody knows why. Or even which Memphis is the reason. Or if there is a reason. Twitter's not accountable to anyone and has no requirement for due process, so they don't need a reason. It could be a mistake at Twitter. It could be a test at Twitter. It could be Twitter trolling people. It could be something has happened at one of the places called Memphis or with a person called Memphis and there's a global ban on anyone saying anything about it.
 
Thing is now it's got people wondering :p

Some people are saying someone trademarked "memphis". But I don't think it works like that lol
 
The ban is for “posting private information”.
Could be a high profile persons password for something? I’ve got no idea but have found a little bit of joy tricking friends into doing it.
