Not sure he'd compliment Lucas in all honesty. Looks like the type of player that keeps things ticking over rather than the type who gets in amongst the goals.

If we were playing a 2 man midfield then I'd agree but we won't be so I don't. Both Lucas and Allen can play in the most defensive role of the 3 and in the water carrier/continuity role which will give us flexibility when they're both in the side but more importantly, cover for the defensive role.

Lucas breaking up attacks, Allen keeping things ticking over and Gerrard having license to get forward. In terms of style (not quality), it's not too far away from Masch, Alonso and Gerrard.
