It scans and saves to a specific format. It scans just fine?

What else are you expecting other software to do, suddenly unscramble Mesterious symbols to look like something else?

It scans an image at the specified resolution, i.e. it works fine. Perhaps your printer is the problem?

They don't have to mean anything. They might have just been created by someone who was a bit high whilst on Photoshop.
