Meta > Facebook...

VR groping - it's bizaare this is even a "thing"

Much of the success of the internet and way back to the humble VHS tape can be attributed to adults having as little personal space as possible.

If they want to sell VR to the masses then punters are going to need to be able to get close - either to play hide the vegatable or beat the living daylights out of each other. That is what will sell VR. Not having to look at someone's VR living room through the window just in case you have the urge to upskirt a pixel or two.

Facebook metaverse is going to be rubbish. But then so is the blockchain one. hopefully something good comes out.

I may not understand the Metaverse, but what good can come out of it? It's just doing what I do in real life, but with an avatar. Sounds very black mirror esq to me!

its just a natural evolution of the web browser, we browse a 2D world of text and pictures, imagine if you could walk around. I think it's cool and I hope whoever does it best gets the money and we dont end up with something lame.

I like MMORPG games and forums so it should be right up my street.

The thought of a 3d spreadsheet gets me all hot and sweaty.

Watching Facebook's collapse brings me great joy. Apple fired the first shot by giving users the ability to turn off tracking with one simple click, and now the European Union are going after them too.

Fantastic, I hope it dies a painful death. Cancer to society.

In a way it reminds me of a form of the PS3 version, Home?

I thought that was weird back then but it is definitely not for me.

Metaverse as already been done with Second Life that came out in 2003.

I've never played SL. Though I had a friend who liked it. People can make things and sell them for real money. I think even real life companies bought buildings in the 'game world' too.

SL these days is very dated graphically.
