Metal gear solid 'Lambda'

never played the original, so i am interested in it, although it seems very on rails with a lot of cut scenes and bits of gameplay, im waiting on reviews, stuttering on pc with unreal engine is also a concern

Although I'm really interested in playing the game, from what I understand it takes about 12 hours to complete much of which comprises of cutscenes. Apparently there is an achievement for completing the game in under 5 hours. That's not worth £50 of my money, I expect it will drop in price significantly once the hype dies down.

Downloading now but from what I've seen performance is dogshiite. Need a 5090 to get 4k 60fps and its not even smooth, every few seconds massive stutters, I regret buying it so soon lol

Watched 90 mins of a stream yesterday and it was boring as hell to watch with very little of actual gameplay, doubt it was much better to play.
€80 and locked at 60 fps lmfao.

So the same as any UE5 game then? Big deal. We are used to using DLSS/FSR/Frame Generation with UE5 games.
It's capped at 60FPS anyway.

Clearly haven't played the original MGS3 then? It's one of the best in the series.

Yeah I remember a very old one, on PS1 maybe? that was good...played one of the much later ones on PC and just couldnt get on with it - weird controls if I remember...
Think I'll hold off this one for now!

Nope i havent and doubt id want to from what i saw.

No, the stutters in this are wild.
That is pretty bad.
Silent Hill 2 had some stuttering too, not as bad as that mind! Both UE5, I'm sure some patches will level that out a fair bit though. It'll never be perfect, being UE5.

2/3 are regarded as the best in the series, so that's a strange mindset to have, for someone who hasn't played it themselves, each to their own.

How is it that a AA studio can make a game like Robocop run free from stutters, looks better and runs better than this game using the same engine?

Some Devs are more talented than others, just like in any walk of life.

DLSS/frame gen can't fix the stutters tho
True :) my comment was merely relating to FPS versus the engine - ala it's just how it is now, the same can be said for non UE5 engine games, such as Alan Wake 2, that required manditory DLSS/DLAA. If it looks good visually, I don't even have a second thought regarding upscaling.

Stutter wise, the majority of UE5 engine games seem to do this, and I disbelieve that it can be fixed - I'd rather we go back to dev's using their own engine, like AW2, TLOU, RE, GTA, and COD, does.
