Yep, a complete lack of response to this news does seem entirely appropriate.

Konami can take all future games and slip them right up there rear end. Never getting a penny from me again.

Interfered with Kojima's vision of MGSV, then fired him and cancelled the reboot of Silent Hill(s), one of my favourite franchises ever that I have so many good memories from, and are now trying to cash in on what's left of a brilliant series.

why, what have they done? or not done?

It would likely take me up until the new year to type out all examples of there heinous business practices. Inappropriate, verging on illegal mismarketing of there products, general shoddy handling of beloved IP's, black listing critics, flat out lying to consumers about features in game, I could go on. The stuff with Kojima is still pretty hazy. No one really knows what went on there so I'm hesitant to list that as a reason to hate them, but...

I do love seeing like minded individuals on these forums.

Metal Gear Survive Gets Single Player Gameplay Video

I just cant help but think its a direct reskin of MGSV everything down to the animations and gunplay is identical. The zombies are clearly a rip off of the Wandering Mother Base Soldiers - cant help but feel a Battle Royale DLC is going to be there... Metal Gear Survive the Unknown Fortnite Battlegrounds comes to mind

Jheez - its scraping the barrel for content worse than Call of Duty is but bah gawd it actually looks fun to play! I'm torn as I know I should hate this for what one of my favourite franchises has been turned into by Konami but I'll be drawn to mindless stealthy killing of zombies.

If we can just pretend and put it past our minds that this is based on the MGS series and look at it as a new IP - I think we'll be fine.

Hoping for a half decent story - probably going to get some rubbish like the Nanomachines/Wolbachia mutated or some rubbish for the memes :rolleyes: but something tailored around the masterpiece, dare I say it TLoU, would make for another pretty good 3rd Person zombie game - taking all the MGS hate away from it.

Still undecided - will wait for twitch streams and their verdicts before considering.

The moment I heard this had "base building" I lost interest. This and MGSV are not the MGS games I remember, which is a shame as I loved the series.

I mean this is a complete lie, 5 is basically 3 with better graphics and a slightly more open world with few Peace Walker mechanics thrown in, but that's cool bro keep on keepin it real.

Except 3 was very narrative driven like the other good games in the series, whereas 5 largely pushed that to one side in favour of repetitive missions, an open world completely devoid of any life or atmosphere and making you act as HR manager for the base. MGS5 is proof that open world gameplay doesn't necessarily improve a game.

Yeah MGS:V killed the series for me. Absolutely loved and adored the craziness of all the other (PS1 and onwards) games, but MGS:V was just dull as dishwater. Having to manage a garrison of 100 grunts who don't really contribute much beyond statistics is not fun. Having to do the same repetitive side missions is not fun. First MGS game I've ever failed to complete.
