Metro fullscreen problem

Went to try out Metro benchmark for memory usage on Amd but I can't run the game in fullscreen hence disabling crossfire.

I have the taskbar showing from launch and in game and don't have a clue on how to fix this, any help guys?

I had this problem with 5850 xfire.I found i had to change the .ini i think. To be fair ive had problems with Nvidia and ATI.Now my sli 580s get blury textures at very high.Ive heard since that certain cards and models dont get on well with metro in general

harmony, there is no error message, game starts as it should with no errors.
The taskbar sits on top of the game, so the game isn't running in fullscreen hence crossfire won't work.
According to radeon pro on screen display there is only 1 gpu getting used, the crossfire logo also doesn't display which indicates that it's not being used.

In the .ini file you can change it from windowed to fullscreen.Thats how i fixed it.Alternatively you could try alt-enter....you never know, the obvious ones are often overlooked

user.cfg and alt-enter don't work either!:(

Have noticed the ini always reverts to fullscreen off after launching the game.
Have tried read only on the user.cfg's(both of them) but even though they don't revert to fullscreen off, the problem is still there.

Still scratching my head.

Try this (if you haven't already!) open up user.cfg (not .ini). Add a full stop at the end of r_fullscreen on.

If that works I take no credit for it, found it on some windows 7 forum.

If I remember correctly, there are 3 files named "user.cfg" in 3 different locations. Simply type "user.cfg" in the search box in Windows 7 file explorer. When I tried to enable god mode in the game, I had to modify all 3 files at the same time, and then set each of them to read-only (or even with NTFS privilege). That's how I prevent them from being reverted.

^found the third user.cfg in:
\Steam\userdata\9358120\43110\remote

That one fixed the problem, now we have full screen goodness!:D

Thanks everyone for their help and a special thanks to harmony for pointing out the third user.cfg.

Now, how do I get rid of the black outline in crysis:

Your lucky its just a black outline I either have the option of fullscreen @ 24hz or windowed with the taskbar at the bottom @ 60hz.

Is there no way to force overscan in crysis? that should kill off the black border...

Found this on the avsforums:

1) In the CCC go to "Desktop & Displays"
2) Right click on my display and select "Configure..."
3) Hit the "HDTV Support" tab
4) Then under "HDTV modes supported by this display" checkmark the box for "Add 1080p60 format to the Display Manager(NTSC)".
5) Then in the field at the bottom select the "1080p60 standand (1920x1080@60Hz)" and click "Apply Format".

After that all my DX10 games(Bioshock, Crysis, Resident Evil 5) properly display 1080p in full screen with no issues. Hope that helps.
