Metro Last Light - Thread

got it as well enjoyed 2033 , not sure if you dont know russian would if it will be interesting if u set in russian , as im good at russian i do russian speech and english subtitles. but it should be played in russian langue

I set my steam account to offline immediately after the unlock, and will be leaving it offline for the next few days.

Sorry I kind of figured that part would be obvious.

Enjoying it so far, just stopped for a cuppa :)

The reviews that said it's very linear are correct though, but I went into the game expecting this so that's ok. The stealth mechanics seem to have been improved somewhat too, previously a single mistake and the entire level will be looking for you, now it seems to only affect sections of a level, which is good.

The process I went through was to purchase the game in the UK, and preloaded it in the UK.

While in the US I then logged in to steam, which caused the game to unlock and update, took about 6 or 7 minutes. I then set steam to offline.

So long as I remain offline, it doesn't matter if I return to the UK.

Ah I see, I didn't preload, just vpn,d the key to unlock , turned off the vpn, and its downloading fine, do you need to actually play the game offline though?

According to a post above, when they turned the VPN off, the game locked itself again, so I'd say you need to VPN in once it's downloaded, unlock the game, and then stay offline until Thursday.

Luckily it's a single player FPS with no online content to speak of, other than Day1 DLC which is, apparently, already present in the main game files anyway.

Note that none of this is illegal, but it is against the subscriber agreement. Ironically the illegal releases are, apparently, already out and easier to obtains for us Europeans right now. Way to screw over your paying customers!

To run this with a VPN:

1. Connect to your VPN of choice
2. Unlock/run the game
3. Quit and restart Steam in Offline Mode.
4. Keep steam offline until Thursday.
5. Enjoy the game.

For me, really enjoying it so far except for a few issues which I will post about later.
