Metro Last Light - Thread

Yes, very much so. Previous one was one of the best fps experiences I have ever had. The story, the music, the atmosphere, voice acting (russian version), game play (ranger mode) all superb.

This is one of the few games I am looking forward to.

Lol nerusy, I like your sig lmao!! :p

Very cute :p

The first one remains themost visually stunning FPS that saw on PC. It was hugely let down by gamplay for me though, I also hated the physics of shooting - crucisal in a first person shooter ;) Monsters were "absorbing" AK rounds like you're shooting them with waterpistol. Hope this will be addressed in the sequel and I would definitely buy it then.

Hmm I think you played it before they release ranger mode. On my first playthrough I abandoned the game after first few gun encounters as you'd need to shoot the enemy 100 times before they went down, on ranger difficulty mode however the damage from bullets is better and they go down in 1-2 shots if i remember well. Even then the problem of not enough bullet still stays to keep you on your toes :)

Oh my, thank you ^_^

Not really, I find it hard to get interested in heavily scripted fps games these days, and all the game play trailers I've seen so far is just that.

Metro 2033 was ok, story(?) was pants but was still pretty decent.

I am, the last one while lacking freedom of today's games offered plenty of atmosphere. I am on a laptop for another year at least though so won't get to play it for some time until it's out.

I've only started Metro 2033 recently (after buying it over a year ago!) now that I have a GPU that can do it justice. It's a beautiful game, atmosphere is just wonderful. A.I. is a bit weird at times, humans in particular all seem to act like a hive mind. I much prefer fighting them than the creatures though, wish there was more stealth gameplay.

i hate how on the sneaking parts if you get discovered you cant run away and hide they just know where you are

This coupled with the lack of a quicksave, or knowing where the next checkpoint was, made trying to be 100% stealthy a complete mockery in this game.

I loved the graphics, the gameplay was a little meh... but I was happy to play through it for the graphics alone... it really is one of those games that makes your jaw drop to the flaw.

Still the most graphically impressive game on the PC. I started playing it with crossfire 5770s... didn't get very far as my frame rate was poor at a non-native resolution - wanted to save it for when graphics cards had caught up to the game.

They finally have - but it still brings my system to it's knees with min frame rates dropping in to the 20s at times... I'll be playing it the whole way through this time though :)

Just watched the E3 pre-alpha footage and they've improved it even more - it looks STUNNING! Especially the section where the player char doesn't have a weapon and is being guided through the (political?) rally, leading to a chase/gunfight - around about 7 minutes:

I can't wait! I just hope it'll be a touch better coded this time as I'd rather not have to buy a second 690 - lol!
