Metro Redux

Is there any word on if these are worth it? I've got both games but never spent anytime with them. Not sure if it's worth holding off playing them and just picking these up.

£8.49 each seems steep, especially for Last Light. Isn't the "Redux" meant to be using the Last Light engine anyway? So why pay the £8.49 for nothing?

Its mainly a redo of metro 2033 in the last light engine which is great because 2033's downfall was that it felt really clunky and not with the last light engine it will provide a more enjoyable experience.
Its main selling point is that its bringing as close to the pc graphics as it can for the next gen consoles really

For Metro 2033 Redux, Metro 2033 has been rebuilt using the newest version of the powerful 4A Engine, last seen in action in Metro: Last Light. That means advanced lighting, dynamic weather, higher detail for characters with improved animation, more dynamic destruction, and improved smoke, fire, and particle effect.

Metro: Last Light Redux has also received a upgrade, including new melee animations and the fan-requested ‘Check Watch’ and ‘Check Inventory’ features. All previously released Metro: Last Light DLC will be included in this Redux version.

New ways to play
Both Redux versions will now feature two modes of play: ‘Survival’ and ‘Spartan’. Survival lets you play either game in Metro 2033's more survival-horror oriented style, with deadlier enemies, slower reloading, and more limited resources. Spartan lets you play either game in the Last Light style, with more polished combat and more plentiful resources.

Ranger Mode is included for free in both Redux versions, and can be combined with Survival or Spartan modes, leading to a total of four modes of play for each game.

For me that's not worth the asking price.

I loved both Metro games, thats why I played through them twice.

When I heared of 'Redux' I was excited as I thought it was a 3rd game in the series.

Alas I am dissapointed. :(

they're remastered versions of the original games which is pretty stupid because the games are only recently released, plus look as good as Crysis, you do this sort of thing for much much older games like FAR CRY, FEAR and DOOM

Metro runs well, it runs far better than Wolfenstein

Last light was one of the worst PC launches for me in history. The game ran fine, but was amazingly unstable on my setup. Constantly hardlocked my PC, regardless of any overclocks, drivers used etc. Ended up complaining to steam about it, who gave me a full refund on it.

29th August is the release date.

Ah nice one :) I bought the Metro Redux Bundle not that long ago, and wondered when it was going to come out. I've not played either of them before, but have seen some gameplay video's and I'm really looking forward to getting my teeth into these, as they are both meant to be fantastic :D

It is Amusing to say the least that they have done this despite the huge issues still present in the current game.

Shame as the game looks brilliant and the story is from what i heard extremely good.

The 45 FOV, Aspect Ratio and Mouse issues alone are enough to put me off this game, all of which are still present in the Redux versions.

Anyone know if the Ranger DLC will be included in the Redux pack?

And also, if I'm halfway through Metro 2033 original edition, can I move my saved games folder into the Metro 2033 Redux saved games folder so I don't have to start from the beginning again?

you could change fov in config files .

we should have got this free of charge if we have two games already or some upgrade package like deux ex was for few quid .

The thing which a lot of PC gamers are rightly upset about is that the only reason they made the redux was to launch the 2 games on XB1/PS4 so surely you give the PC gamers the updates for a nominal amount not £16.99 each (50% pre-order ONLY discount if you own each game you get them for £8.48 each).

All DLC is included with both games but still these should have been much cheaper when most of the work was done for nextgen consoles PC is only getting it because of that
