Metro Redux

Looks like 4A noticed the low sales  they have now patched in the missing Volumetric Lighting FX in some but not all scenes on 2033

But like most greedy devs they never learn the -50% discount for existing owners is now -25% as the game has launched in some regions but here in UK Friday is the launch date so its locked on Steam until then but the extra -25% appears to be gone for all other regions though

The -50% discount is still active in UK until Thursday midnight apparently but reduced to -25% for regions where the game is live which is a bit of a chump move really :(

Wonder what else is missing ........... boy those 80 devs spending a year on PC Redux's sure did a great job

Developer/Publisher are not winning many PC gamers over here

They have just now unlocked the game in UK 1 day early.

1.2GB restore missing gfx patch has not been released yet as only the publisher can ok this but the dev has said they uploaded it to Steam servers but cannot release it until the publisher presses the button

-50% discount for owning both games on Steam has just been removed despite the steam store page saying you get 50% off each title so now its gone up to full price for all buyers £16.99 per game or £33.98 for bundle of both

Had the original Metro but never bought Last Light for some reason. Grabbed them illegal before deleting and buying it on Steam. Game looks great and runs great on my system so I'm OK parting with my shillings. Don't think I got far on the original Metro so looking forward playing through.

Got part discount for owning at least one of the games.

Anything with improved gameplay and graphics (loved Last Light but found original Metro a bit tedious and unoptimised vs Last Light) is great but after reading these bits, especially the removal of the discount and early release is just not on and I will not be buying it.

Shame.

Seems these days we can only rely on a select handful of developers to give PC gamers what they actually want. We know who they are!

Maybe the good Lord will deliver soon :D

+1 .

Native 21:9 support so I was primed to buy wanted to hear early overseas buyers reports (about missing Volumetric Lighting FX & other bugs) then they announced a patch to restore the extra special gfx late yesterday evening but at the same time unlocked UK 2 days early removing the 50% discounts in the process

That to me is a pretty underhand tactic I will not buy on general principle now :( They only released on PC as they had 80 staff working on the nextgen console versions anyway its not like 80 staff spent a year on PC Redux's despite their Steam PR post  the missing Volumetric Lighting lets that little misconception out of the bag straight away

Conspiracy theories aside, the game, graphically, is definitely a step up from last time. I was going to start Metro 2033 non redux but decided to wait - I had done the first three chapters on the old one so no issues starting again . Picked it up at Kinguin for under £14 for the pair earlier today.

Note, I haven't played Last Light as I want to do Metro 2033 first.

Cant believe some of these last comments moan moan moan.

Give us pc gamers a bad name.

4a gave us graphics miles ahead when realesed on last consoles, now they have gave us the option of the new reworked ones at a good price and still not happy.

Also think they sound like a good straight talking company after there interview with eurogamer.

I don't know, some folks.

Have you even read some of the more recent posts with links above?

Doesn't seem like it.

Human nature. People whine like little girls, it's how it is.

I'm having a blast. Never played the original Metro 2033 past the part with 'Bourbon' but now I'm miles behind that. Really enjoying it. Should finish 2033 this weekend before starting Last Light.
