The start will be exciting given the recent history of the front row drivers. I foresee Verstappen taking no liberties, while I'm sure Vettel will be extra cautious.

Actually, I think it will be Vettel that'll be incautious as well. He wants the championship and the only way to get it is to win.

It's a foregone conclusion and Ferrari know that. They'll keep going while there's a chance of course, and might even resort to Abu Dhabi 2016 tactics if it comes to it, but they're not going to risk everything by taking him out. Ferrari ruined their chances themselves.

I was slightly surprised Verstappen was investigated myself. I thought he was sufficiently clear of Bottas, and Bottas had to make minimal movement to miss him (perhaps tightened up his exit minutely, but it looked fairly normal to me). Perhaps an investigation was warranted, but Verstappen was never getting penalised for that.

I think the FIA should limit the amount of junk on the grid, and make it so the drivers must start the car themselves. I remember that being a thing in some proposed rules years ago when KERS was introduced.

wahoo work finished and back home just in time. kebab ordered and now cross fingers to Hamilton getting 5th or higher.

Personally I want him to win it or DNF with Vettel 2nd or higher (thus pushing it on to Brazil). Finishing 5th is no way to clinch the title :p

the championship is over so I don't care, at no point can this be made into a close battle and prolonged. well, I suppose there's a tiny chance of 3 DNFS for ham.

Not excited about it, it's been a pretty dire race for two years. I suspect Max could be faster than vettel but we might not be able to see it. Here if they can't pass in a couple of laps I somewhat expect them all to back off for cooling reasons very quickly. Maybe if Max can hang it out and push hard for a bunch of laps as he's been good at keeping his tires in shape in recent races on longer stints.

Ham also having a chance to pass them at pitstops as his long run pace seemed excellent.

No idea, despite that long straight overtaking has been poor due to lack of drag for the guy in front.
