Much colder than expected, so tyres are unsuited to conditions. Not really fair to have a go at Pirelli; they could make far better tyres but the FIA don't want them to.
They are making what they've been asked to make in order to give a show and force pitstops. They've said on many occasions they could make a tyre with high grip that lasts the whole race if they were asked to.
