Nor do i, went in several last weekend, look alright on the outside but the interior is some 80's throwback design finished off with metro clocks.....

:p metro clocks rule :D

I meant more the lack of a dealer network tbh

i`d get a rover 200 sdi instead of the petrol MG
very very easy and cheap(£50) to up the power from 105 to 135bhp with 260nm of torque
0-60 just under 7s and there cheap
you can embarrass so called better cars with it

why, has it been improved?

No, they drove another RS and concluded that there were issues with the early build press cars as the later one they drove was, in their words, utterly stunning.

So they upped the rating.

Just under 7 seconds 0-60? I don't mean to pick, but it's more like just around 8 seconds @ 135hp. While only 1 second, to get a 0-60 in around 6.8s you'd need to squeeze something like 175hp out of that diesel :p

Tut  Get out  *slaps* xcessive

Any serious suggestions?

In what way?

And yeah, I've considered the Zetec S.
My dads had three Fiestas as his ADI cars, and he's loved every single one. They're reliable as muck, and he could probably get me half decent deal on one as he's bought his last 5'ish cars from Ford :) They usually sort him a pleasant price...

Just the MG is so cheap, and attractive, and seems good performance?

Regards,

Pete.

The only reason i recommended a VTR was because you mentioned liking the Zetec S. The VTR is a competitor iof the Zetec S and can be had very cheaply, however, finding an un-chavved up example is quite hard. I've noticed you are the same age as me (18) and when getting insurance quotes on a VTR i noticed it was more expensive than insuring a Zetec S. It's because of the chav image it has.

One of my friends is picking up a ZR (105) on Thursday. I'll tell you what i think of it (never been in one up close yet). However, from what i have seen on the net the interior is very dated but from the outside they do look quite nice.

i was basing that on a guy on a rover forum
who has a rover 25sdi(same as the 200 bubble shape)
he says "its very good. mine does 0-60 in less than 7 secons and has around 140bhp 232.6ftlb torque"
his dyno readout

its more about the torque than the power to pull you to 60

That dyno readout says 'Calibra' on it, is the a name of the machine or something? or the car?

Yeah, got it in one mate.
They're ok cars, just I've never found anyone remotely decent who drives one. They've always got their fog lights on during the day, doing 45 round corners, and are off to cut the next persons hair or something?... Just don't take to them at all, seem to attract morons bigtime.

106 Quicksilver/Gti over one of those anytime :)

Fiesta Zetec-S is a good idea bud, and it's certainly on my list.
You can't go wrong with Ford, and as I said my dads last 3 ADI cars have been Fiestas, and he's never found a fault with them. Ford's services is poor, cause they can afford to be sloppy I guess, but overall you wouldn't complain. Dad certianly hasn't. He's got a 54' focus too  :p

Still want an MG. Nothing on this thread yet has put me off ;)...

well, hoping that people dont think that about my FDSH VTR i'm trying to sell now. Its immaculate, and completely standard(ish)

Oh no, the DIESEL TORQUE OWNZ JOOO!!!!!1111one! argument again....

That torque is stunted by the need to have tall gearing because of the low rev limit. Diesel torque is only an advantage if you can't be arsed to change down to overtake.

It doesn't do 0-60 in less than 7 seconds :)

Ha... What you done to it you cheeky thing? :p

lol

nothing outlandish guv'nor, promise :p

Its got a subtle magnex system on it, and had an MP3 CD player/sub/amp in it, but i've removed the ICE now.

Itsa just a clean, immaculate, example which i'm hoping will be qute easy to sell on...

managed to get this vid off the guy that owns the car
http://media.putfile.com/Clip867
if its not under 7s its still bloody quick for a rover diesel thats nothing special
car starts moving at 4s and hits just over 60 at 11s
i know(before you all jump in lol) thats not really that accurate but for most of us without timing lights its the only way to get an idea
