MGFs

The MGF is not a good car but it's a car nonetheless and worth more than your £2500. THe handling for a mid-engine is not very clever and that's being polite about it. White would be my main issue tbh but as has been said, drive for a few months and then flog it on ebay with a £2500 reserve and if it goes for £3k throw the hard top in, otherwise flog it off and make some extra cash.

I've just been looking on Ebay and it appears that it should easily sell for £2500 as it's had the HG, cambelt, has a hardtop and has low milage. I think I'll try to arrange picking it up asap, might even drive it myself for a few days, see how it compares to the Elise ;)

Drink plenty of coffee and a take a packet of proplus beforehand :p

Got none left. Just done 1000 miles in the Mondeo in the last few days, I needed them all for that.

Sounds good, and if you had written off the money then you can't really refuse it.

Might be difficult to shift at this time of year though

Yeah, I'd already written off the money as it's been so long now that part of me thinks that I should just blow it on something silly that I don't need.

The Elise doesn't really need anything, apart from a trip to the Ring perhaps :D

Simple mathematics!

Elise + £2.5k = Supercharged Elise OR Exige. :p

If you can find me a supercharger for £2.5k then I'll do it, unfortunately the only ones available for the 111R are closer to £8k :(

Depends on how you look at it...

If you can get a supercharger kit for £5.5k instead of £8k, then it's a bargain, and must be purchased immediately! ;)

What are the actual differences between the Elise 111R and the Exige in it's various formats?

Obvious bits are hard top, wider alloys, stickier tyres, different clams and a rear spoiler. Less obvious bits are suspension. Engine is exactly the same.

What justifies the higher price tag over the 111R then?

Is it a step up in pace?

Nope, ironically it's actually slower than the 111R (only fractionally due to the extra weight)

It's basically supposed to be a track weapon I guess whereas the Elise is the soft topped road car.

That's only true though for the S2 though.

there are more differences between s1 elise and exige (don't ask me what they are because I don't know) and the exige is the quicker car.
