Mice! I really need them gone.

Get twelve of the cheap wooden traps from B&Q and place them in known runs, in cupboards the mice have been in etc. Even if you don't have that many mice a lot of traps has a quicker outcome than too few.

Mice tend to run around the edge of a room, so place the bait end against the skirting boards. Sometimes mice will jump over a trap, so placing another alongside the first one can help get some of the tricky devils.

If you think you got all the mice, leave the traps down for another 2-4 weeks and keep checking for droppings etc to ensure you don't have any stragglers.

Personally I'd try to avoid poison as if the mice die in an enclosed area there is a chance they'll start to smell as they decay.

However annoying mice are, glue traps are vile. Get a standard trap, or a humane trap if you must. Poison will work eventually but you'll have dead mice behind the skirtings.

We had mice in our old house and the cat wasn't interested in them at all. They say just the presence of a cat is enough to scare them off, that's not true!

Traps are the best way imo.

What would you do if they are under your floorboards? Would you raise them to put traps underneath?

Nope, as they will be coming out somewhere to feed.

You need to put down traps anywhere in your flat, or outside elsewhere that could give them access into the floorboards. You probably want to use traps, rather than poison bait, as with poison they might die under the floor boards and smell.

Go with the old fashioned snap traps and stick a piece of mars bar or peanut butter on their and you will start taking them out pretty sharpish. The more traps you place the quicker you reduce the numbers so make sure you at least a couple to help things along.

OMFG you are a genius, im shocked that i myself didnt think of that.

your problem is now solved.

Quick someone put an entry in the forum lost and found for this guys sense of humour... I'm sure it was in excellent condition with very little use! :D

Traps it is then. After all I am a man,so disposing of dead furry things will not be a problem to me?

Get an electronic rat trap (Procter Bros one), bit of peanut butter on a biscuit in the middle, problem solved. Much cleaner than having mouse brains spattered up the walls.

That is a definite possibility. Cheers.

I had a mouse myself and got some 'advanced' traps from B&Q. Caught one the first night and I'm going to check again in a few minutes. I wanted the little buggers GONE. They're pests that deserve to have their neck broken and their skulls caved in by the trap.

Might have only had one mouse as the other trap is still empty. Will check again in the morning.
