Michael Schumacher seriously injured

That's what I don't understand. It was an accident, so why are they involved? I am pretty sure people who have been hospitalised whilst skiing do have the police asking for their GoPro footage?!

I wonder if the police are involved more out of not wanting the footage to fall into the Press's hands, rather than because they are actually investigating it?

Unless there is some sort of insurance or liability thing that is dependant on exactly where he was when he had the accident?

That's the only reason I can think that they would be involved, but then when you ski off piste that pretty much lose your rights to do anything. Seems very odd. Anyway, its a shame to see that not much progress has been made with his condition.

potentially good news:

Official update from Michael Schumacher’s manager:

Michael’s sedation is being reduced in order to allow the start of the waking up process which may take long time. For the protection of the family, it was originally agreed by the interested parties to communicate this information only once this process was consolidated. Please note that no further updates will be given.

Formula One legend Michael Schumacher is “responding to instructions” as medics gradually bring him out of his coma, according to reports.

It has also been alleged that the seven-time world champion has blinked during brain tests.

Citing “very reliable sources”, L’Equipe newspaper said Schumacher has undergone a number of neurological tests since Monday and he has responded “positively”.

Great news!
